Dinner yesterday 3-26-15
- "Lamb shoulder arm chops"- spiced, pan seared
then cooked to medium rare - Mashed potatoes with turkey gravy - Fresh white corn cut off the cob I also deglazed the pan with a little water and added that to the gravy. A simple but very nice meal. |

A simple but very nice meal. I made White Castle Casserole. I had a piece of that with the leftover haricot verts. Husband had both of those things plus cooked carrots and potatoes. Not sure what Angela had but she told me that she did eat veggies. She is big into eating hummus, cottage cheese and raw veggies these days. |

I had grilled chicken breast on a bed of romaine, dressed with a vinaigrette of lemon juice, garlic, a little Worcestershire sauce, a shake of Tabasco, and extra-virgin olive oil. She is big into eating hummus, cottage cheese and raw veggies > these days. yesterday was soccer practice plus two birthday parties -- not a lot of time for home cookin' but we managed - I personally ate bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast, a salami sandwich for pre-lunch, a cheeseburger with a kosher dill pickle and leftover fries from the gyros place for post-lunch, and leftover mini-pizza from BJs (which was better reheated in the toaster oven than in its original presentation) right now I'm cooking up a sausage ragu with my experimental sweet Italian sausage made from pork loin -- the main problem being lean sausage could be dry, but not in a sauce |

Add the lamb and brown the steaks on each side for about 3 minutes each. Peel and chop the carrots to 2 inch pieces while the lamb browns then the turnip gets peeled and chopped to smallish pieces. Add the veggies, gravy packets, 3 cups water, and Rogan josh seasoning to taste (go light and add more later as this is fairly spicy stuff). I started with 1 TS, later added 1/2ts more and 1/2ts Garam Masala. -- |

There is something magical on brown gravy when it hits lamb and is long slow simmered with curry. -- |
