Default Salting radishes

So by some stupidity on my part, I have quite a few watermelon radishes. I
kept ordering them in my CSA packages but when I got them. I thought they
were turnips! They are actually the size of a turnip and that's what threw
me. Only after I attempted to peel one and cut it up to make caramelized
turnips did I see my mistake!

They are very good and have some bite to them. Not too much bite. But I
decided to try salting a slice because sf said that would take the bite out
of them. Well it didn't. It also didn't make them taste salty like I
thought it would. It just made them bitter and unpleasant.

Don't worry you can cook a radish and it will come out fairly similar to a
turnip. They turn sweet when cooked and the bite goes away.

They are both similar brassicas after all.

I'm not worried. I've never eaten a cooked radish. One day perhaps I will.
I love them raw!

You are full of it...Round-up has no effect on the taste of food produced from the sprayed plant. Where did you get that gem?

Default Salting radishes

I love Roundup Brush Killer. It is the only thing that kills the intermittent vestiges of the Virginia
Creeper my idiot neighbor planted on purpose, which absolutely destroyed my 30-year old
Honeysuckle hedge.

Sure it does. It tastes like poison and a constant low-level of poison
will give of cancer.
