That info is helpful. I knew you had a system that satisfied >you so I told my neighbor I would check. Thanks again. >Janet US Oh, I forgot to mention you need a Rx to get the syringes at a drug store too. All medications are significantly more expensive from a Vet... the syringes cost less than half as much at Walmart, you save about 25% buying insulin at Wags, and they deliver right to your door for free... it arrives very well packaged, the little vile is packed in a rather large styrofoam ice chest that's bonded with an aluminized space blanket, it contains several reusable ice packs, and a chemical temperature recorder that will indicate if the insulin has ever been too warm. The first time I received the insulin I was shocked to see a carton that could easily hold two desk top PCs... it also arrives in about 12 hours of shipping... if shipped this afternoon it'll be at your door first thing in the morning. I've never had any negative issues with Wags or Walmart, the only problem was getting the Vet to send the Rx, but both Wags and Walmart will see that the Vet complies, it's illegal for a Vet to insist you buy from them, in fact the Vet buys from a company like Wags does and then adds like 100% profit... actually Wags buys from the same wholesaler that Vets buy from. Wags takes far less profit and they arrange so that the drug is shipped to you directly from the wholesaler. The Walmart pharmacy does carry many veterinary meds but unfortunately they don't yet carry the one my cat needs, otherwise the price would probably be like $12 instead of the $135.00 Wags charges.. from the Vet I had paid over $200.00 and I had to drive 40 miles round trip to pick it up at the Vet, and a couple of times when I arrived they didn't have the insulin, they effed up. That's when I decided to look elsewhere and discovered Wags. Wags sells a lot of animal products besides meds... I've bought cat food from Wags too but Walmart had a better price, only Wags delivers for free, but I go to Walmart anyway. Wags is very good for people with pets but who don't drive. Oh, a person answers the phone at Wags 24/7. |

Both Walgreens and Walmart sold them to me with no problems. In fact, if they don't have the syringe size I want they will order them for me. Thanks again Janet US |

You can buy insulin without a prescription in Canada (or perhaps it's Ontario). Same for syringes. I found the best were BD 3/10cc 29 gauge (if you can get them). The 31 gauge kind are more common but the needle is too thin to pierce through fur and skin. Tomorrow fructosamine test will determine whether our diabetic cat is going off insulin or not. The vet was quite positive about it three weeks ago as it looked like she had gone into remission but he didn;t want to stop the insulin abruptly so we were giving her half a unit twice a day. The vial will be empty after this evening's dose, as will the supply of syringes. So here is hoping. -- Socialism never took root in America because the poor there see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarassed millionaires. - John Steinbeck |

I've never been to a pharmacy that didn't have a line to wait in. |

I would choose to go to my closet pharmacy and that is 1 to 3 miles. My Costco is 8 miles crosstown. My Costco has a line of folks sitting in chairs and others winding back a couple of aisles. They only have one person at the front so when you get to the front of the line you find out that your prescription isn't ready as you were told, they made it out wrong, or they couldn't get the meds asked for. Walgreens will notify by email when your prescription is ready. Walmart you can talk to a real person if you wish -- without waiting on line for 5 to 10 minutes. I won't even get my flu shot at Costco anymore. The lines and wait times of a hour isn't right. Janet US |

I should have. But then I got pretty sick, etc., and it didn't seem pertinent any longer as I got my prescriptions closer to home. I still see the long lines of folks waiting for prescription pickup. Maybe I should say something. Janet US |
The Marty malady, September anthology.
Marty the madman goes off on Wal Mart: "Rude, incompetent jerks. But I'm sure it's a good place to get the cheapest most contaminated Chinese generics on earth." Marty the xenophobe goes off on Canada: "Canada is more like USA 1970. Willful ignorance about emvironmental issues, and horrendous violations of the earth, water and air are the markers of it's financial strength." Then blames America, as usual: "I guess we traiined them well, unfortunately." Marty exposes his lack of knowledge on using AR 15s for hunting: "I figure that kind of numbskull would kill themselves or some innocent if they ever blundered out and actually attempted to actually fire the thing." Marty exposes his lack of knowledge regarding lead acid car batteries: "And there's no point to keep producing more of a poisonous metal when we have all we need already in the system. No market for products containing lead is being compromised." Marty tell us his neighbors are as stupid as he is: "Hey, at least you aren't using a shotgun on squirrels like the dopes around here." Marty tells us how he really feels about "minorities": "I never felt the need to patronize minorities by making a point of eating with them and being nice." Marty admits to exacerbating songbird predation: "I feed feral cats and there's an assistant at an area vet who gives out food for those who feed ferals." Marty builds a class warfare straw man: "That's actually what it's all about, weak minds that are low on integrity trying to elevate their self esteem by beating down those less fortunate." Marty issues orders, then backpedals: "Dictate? Is someone forcing you to do as I say? " Marty builds another straw man: "So what do you suggest? Kill them all? Or what?" Marty projects again: "Quit feeding the troll." Marty indicts our entire nation for his own bigotry" "They are honest hardworking people who are stuck between a rock and a hard place because this country is so hateful towards anyone who needs assistance to get a leg up." Marty shows how little he knows about which kinds batteries can and can't be recycled: "BZZZZT! Recycle police here. You're supposed to recycle used batteries!!!!" Marty projects again: "I don't know but please accept this ad hominem in lieu of a answer." Marty shows his compassion on Joan Rivers' passing: "Susie is bummed out. She is a devout Fashion Police follower." Marty demonstrates how economically out of touch he is: "Most corporate employers would never pay more than the absolute minimum at which they can hire workers desperate for a wage." Marty shills for unions over a free market: "I think a union is what they need to put an end to the "promotion to a salaried position" scam." Marty projects, again: "One wonders how much time you're willing to spend trying to talk sense to a headcase." "They aren't worth the calories required to even think about them. Nobody here worth reading takes them seriously." Marty builds another set of straw men: "I'm pretty sure that's you you would characterize any journalist who writes something different than what you want to believe. " "Too bad, but you don't have the credibility here to get away with that." "So you expect all writing to be done by scientists? Good luck with that." |
