While noodling around for other things in my area, I ran across this
youtube video about Gullah Grub Restaurant. It's a video of how they make shrimp with okra. I seem to remember okra being mentioned recently. ![]() Bill Green is the owner and chef at Gullah Grub Restaurant on Saint Helena. If he's a tad difficult to understand it's because he's Gullah. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIlzuUW7X2c First off, that's garlic powder. Why not use chopped fresh garlic? You can't tell by looking at him in this video but he seems to aspire to the British gentry. He's an avid horseman and he raises fox hounds. I had no idea fox hunting was a big thing here until John and I had dinner at Gullah Grub. Bill Green sat down at our table and tried to sell us his coffee-table book. Complete with pictures of him with his horse. He was wearing jodpurs and red riding coat. He's pictured with his his fox hounds. It was a rather strange dining experience, to say the least. That doesn't mean he can't cook. We were just uncomfortable being approached that way. I don't even remember what we had for dinner. I know it wasn't this shrimp with okra. Maybe a bowl of gumbo...
