Question re movie "Julie & Julia"

I finally got my hands on the DVD (two or three years after seeing it) and managed to figure out from the main menu - pretty fast - which scene I wanted. It was in the last quarter - the scene where Julia Child was handed some American cookbook that turns out to be full of recipes with junk ingredients - such as marshmallow fluff. The title was "Real Home Cooking" by Della Simmons.

Except I can't find anything even similar to that. That is, assuming Della Simmons doesn't exist, the only books with that title are post-1990 - by Pillsbury.

So does anyone know more about the cookbook she was REALLY given?

You're assuming she was "REALLY given" a book like that. 'Tain't
necessarily so.

It was in a movie, so it had to be true.

Sorry, don't know, but I do know that the movie sucked. I liked Meryl Streep as Julia, but the arrogant Julie and her **** husband were very annoying.

Maybe Helen Corbitt's Cookbook:

Lima bean and mushroom casserole, strawberries romanoff, flowerpots, stuffed onions, crabmeat norfolk, pickled shrimp

It was probably some trash that Sandra Lee has published. EVERYTHING she cooks is some garbage from a can she has attempted to doctor up and pass off as gourmet, lip-smacking food.
