Mystery Meat Is Real
Nuggets ain't all gold:
http://www.kitchendaily.com/read/chi...6pLid%3D387721 And guess what's in that preground burger meat yoose buy at your favorite stupidmarket... no better than mystery chicky... and don't even think about fast food burgers, it's less nutritious/wholesome going down than pooping out. I wouldn't feed stupidmarket preground mystery meat to a ferral barn cat... they wouldn't eat it anyway, they'd rather a fresh killed mouse. My local market has USDA Choice top round roasts on sale this week, $3.99/lb. I'll be grinding my own... only takes ten minutes to grind 20 pounds, and five minutes for clean up, and maybe ten minutes to wrap bulk for the freezer, and no more than one minute each to form and package burgers... I'll buy a couple three for roasts too. At least I'll know what/who is in it. Anyone who doesn't grind their own meat is no kind of cook. |

I don't grind my own, I let the butcher at Straub's do it for me! http://straubs.com/ And I get it for $3.79/lb! Often freshly ground, because they go through a lot of it and I buy 4lbs+ at a time! And I NEVER buy or eat McCraps anything, ever. John Kuthe... |

Processed at home, it's mechanically separated meat. Processed in China, perhaps it would be done by hand. MSM is what goes into nuggets, and the analysis you link is what one expects of MSM. Ground chicken, even with dodgy parts is far too good (i.e., expensive) to be made into nuggets. IIRC, a whole bunch of fast food chains said they were going to stop using "boneless lean beef trimmings" (BLBT), a somewhat similar process where the fat in really fatty trimmings is centrifuged out of the "lean beef". (MSM beef is already banned in lots of places due to BSE; the difference is that in BLBT, the bones are not present, so no concerns with spinal cord.) Perhaps they will do the same with MSM chicken? First, they need non-MSM chicken nuggets. |
