Default Almond/Vanilla ("Nectar") frosting

I made some nectar (almond/vanilla) frosting recently, just to put on some
sugar cookies.

I guess it's hard to make a frosting with both almond and vanilla without
one flavor dominating the other. The almond seemed to dominate the vanilla.

I'd recommend leaving the frosting in the fridge for a week before using.
That seems to give the flavors some time to meld together.

I also tried to color the frosting red. I used some Wilton gel food coloring
without much success. I read that a combination of different red food
coloring works best.
