A blast from the past
 

I made a peanut butter sandwich for lunch yesterday. After some 70 years, I
decided I'd add some strawberry jam. Then I decided to grill the sandwich.
Delicious! Don't know why I waited so long to make an old-fashioned peanut
butter and jelly sandwich again. Will make another for lunch today.

Well, I've never grilled a PBJ sandwich before but I do prefer them open
faced (one slice) toasted then spread with peanut butter immediately. It
melts on. Good by themselves or also good with jam on top....or with a thin
slice of swiss cheese softening on top. These are often a late-night snack
for me.

If you have a few salty Lay's potato chips handy, that makes it even better.

I don't know why but if I eat warm peanut butter, it comes right back up.
Could never have it on toast for that reason. But I do like peanut butter
and jam.

Never grilled one, but I do put PB and strawberry jam (Trappist
brands) on toast. That is breakfast about 3 times a week. Been
eating that for at least 65 years now.

Himself likes peanut butter but I have never liked it. When I told him you
all eat it with jam etc he didn't believe me LOL

Ha! You should tell him to try it sometime, just on a corner of his peanut
butter bread or toast. He's missing out. He should also try a bit of melted
swiss on PB toast, assuming he likes swiss cheese.

I will:) Heck if he likes PB he might as well try it out:) Ooops, he says
he has tried it with jam and pulled a face. OTOH he hasn't tried it with
cheese so ... :))

Pan toasted with a butter-flavored Pam-clone sprayed on it. Samne way I

How can anybody not like PB & Whatever!
Here's a few of my favourite whatevers with PB, in no particular
order. Sometimes I use a combination of several:
Jam or jelly
Honey
I was going to list all the different cheeses that I like with PB but
it might take up too much room so.. here's the 2 favourites:
Old Cheddar and Oka
Dill pickles
Smoky bacon (side, not back)
Bananas
Lettuce & Mayonnaise
On pancakes with maple syrup (this morning)
On French toast
with sauerkraut on rye bread
In Asian-type dips and sauces
Mixed in with my steel-cut oatmeal
The list goes on but.... you get the idea.
