At $5 apiece? I wouldn't bother. GMA did a blurb on them this morning; people waiting in line for hours? Silly New Yorkers.

I don't know - $5 for breakfast in NY sounds like a bargain--- Well,
$13 if you want a coffee with it.<g> [though you could just buy 2-
and scalp one for $40]

Not likely. I doubt they ever have to 86 an item on the menu at the

I've seen people wait on long lines for all kinds off stuff I
think is dumb, but it's not confined to New Yorkers at all.

Some people also camp out for tickets to a show or a concert. And no,
not just in New York.

I remember people camping out so they would be among the first
to get a new release of Windows. Lots of people don't have the
aversion to waiting on line that I do, clearly.

You have to wonder, who named this new pastry a Cronut. The word Cronuts
does not sound as appetizing as Dosants, IMO.

I like Dosant a lot better too. Besides wouldn't it be a Qwa-nut anywya?

Now if you want to try a home version on the cheap:

http://www.seriouseats.com/2013/06/s...html?ref=title

Thanks to Pillsbury®, you can make your own Crescent Donuts at home, and
it couldn't be simpler. Serious Eats partnered with Pillsbury® and
Cooking Channel's Brigitte Nguyen to show you how in this video.

I'm the one who would be the last person on earth to get that if
it involved waiting on a long line. Camping on a sidewalk?
Makes me laugh thinking what would be at the end of that line to
make me do that. To each his own, of course, just commenting on
how some people don't mind lines.

Qwa-nut is much more appealing name for a pastry.

Get yer g'ography sraight. Iowa is NOT THE BIBLE BELT. The Bible Belt commonly refers to areas heavy with Southern Baptist ministries. That ain't us.

The people they interviewed this morning on GMA were purt-near all New Yorkers.
