Sad but true. There are a lot of people like that. In any large group of
people there always seems to be at least one person or one couple that
does it. They won't leave tip, don't pay enough to cover taxes,
sometimes not even enough to cover their bills, and they do it all the time.

Cheap Bob was notorious for stuff like that. I missed the night that
he got a comeuppance, but I heard about it from the people who did it to
him. He had gone out drinking with three other couples. They guys were
taking turns buying rounds. Bob would always be there when the waiter
came to take their orders but would then slip away to the washroom
before the came and had to be paid for.

When time came for last round, they all ordered expensive drinks, but
when the waiter came with them they asked him to come back when Bob
returned, explaining about him mooching all night. After Bob came back
from the washroom the waiter came back to get the money. Everyone
pointed to Bob and said "He's paying." and the waiter commented that he
had not paid for a drink all night.

I had problems with itching on the outside of the ear and in the crease. I
believe it is because it gets dried out with washing and a little cream on
those areas has cured mine.

(snippage)

Your problem was continuing to go out with him again. There is no
reason to fool anyone. Simply don't go out to eat with them. I don't
know what is so difficult about that.

Seems like you want to get some sort of revenge. Really, just don't eat
with these people once you know what they are like.

Are you referring to tattoos when you say, "tramp stamps?" I hate those on
women...a big turnoff to me. It's not only defacing your beautiful body but
also the mindset of someone that would want to do that permanent thing to
themselves.

Specifically referring to the doodad that is tattood on the lower
back. I shouldn't use that term and I will try not to in the future.

I don't care for tattoos, in general, men or women. Yet, no one's
asking my permission so what are you going to do. Heh. It's the
sign of individuality that millions of people feel the need to have.

May this old lady ask what a tramp stamp entails? Phone number tattooed on derriere?

I've seen it with my own eyes. I really don't get it. They are usually
people who are not hurting for money. Hey, if I know someone's in a
bind, having money troubles, I'm like I got you. I'll just pay.
Happy to have you here. But these people, they will look you bold faced
and put down less money than they owe, defiantly.

It's just outside of behavior that I can understand.

Good for them. I've known people like that, always looking to see
what they can get for free by being a weasel. Blech.

Hey! This guy and his wife didn't even throw down enough to cover their @$#%
entrees, let alone tax and tip. Both with decent jobs, no kids and married
25 yrs. at the time. I was shocked. They horned in on the group as it was,
ordered, ate fast, then beat it.

There does seem to be one or two like that in just about every circle.

Oh, that made me laugh. If you search on tramp stamp, you will
find many unfortunate examples. It's a tattoo on someones lower
back.

Thanks! I keep Vaseline next to my bed for my lips... I should expand
that routine to cover my ears too.

We had a friend who wasn't exactly like that but he was certainly
cheap. He was the type that would eat first and then go to the food
focused outing. He was a long time friend whose habit had started in
college where something like that is excusable when you're putting
yourself through school and barely have two nickels to rub together -
but this continued long after. He was a self-made millionaire who had
quit to cruise around the world on a Windjammer (of course, he paid
for part of the trip by being a part time crew member) and was well
into a second, lucrative career when he went to a bachelor party and
did his "eat before you go and nurse a beer while you're there"
routine. Everyone was fed up with that behavior because he had plenty
of money, so when it came time to pay up - they wouldn't let him off
the hook. He had to split the bill evenly with everyone else. He got
the message: join in fully or don't expect to be included in the
future. He's still part of the group and not a "Cheap Bob" anymore.
Yes, his name is Bob too.

I haven't tried Vaseline on my ears, I use a heavy cream which rubs in. If
it works for you though ... great)

Tramp stamps are tatoos that are on the lower back of women who wear
low-cut jeans/shorts. One day they'll regret doing that.

I don't like tattoos on men or women. My usual response to completely
tattooed arms in cooking shows is to switch channels. I have a neighbor
who appears to be making a good living removing tattoos.

I bet. I don't think much about the tattoos, though sometimes I see
one that makes me wonder what they're thinking. It's facial piercings
I really don't care for, and those earlobe hole things guys get, that
I have to look away. Oooks me out.

Sadly, those who jump on the fad train to express their individuality
seldom see the irony of it.

I have a nephew who has sleeves on both arms. He has stopped showing me
his new tattoos because every time he did it I simply reminded him that
they are permanent.

The worst part is that is a way for them to demonstrate that they think
they are better than you.

I keep hoping that he will disappear from my life again, but he keeps
popping up now and again. My wife is upset with me because I refused to
return his phone calls last year. He was living in Nova Scotia and a
mutual frined told me that he he was headed out to Saskatchewan to visit
(mooch off) his brother there. I figured he was looking for a place to
stay for a few weeks for free. The other people he used to do that to
won't allow that anymore.... including his sister.

I have to admit that when I first started seeing them and they were
small, interesting tattoos on very shapely bodies with young supple skin
I thought they were pretty sexy. Since then, I have seen too many that
were big and ugly, as were bodies they were inked onto.

They do? I go to the gym several times a week, so I a lot naked men on
all ages in the locker room. I see lots of tattoos, but I have never
seen a male tamp stamp.

Yes... and if/when he gets flabby he's going to wonder how the heck to
cover them up.

Sure, search on men tramp stamp and you will behold much stupidity ...
I mean, lower back body art. Something about that location makes
people decide on the most ludicrous tattoos.

They might be able to help with that too. Not sure what the cause of that
could be. I get psoriasis in my ears sometimes. That can be very itchy
too!

Ha! Can't tell you how many times I've seen a young woman squat down or
bend over while wearing those pants that ride very low on the hips. Often
said pants are ill fitting and too loose around the top. They slide right
down just like the plumber's crack pants. You can see everything.

Or... They wear light colored pants in a thin fabric with a dark thong
beneath. You can see those too.

Yeah. That and the visible bras. Had a personnel manager in the 80's who
claimed to be very religious and yet she'd wear a black bra under a sheer
white blouse. Really?

I have seen those sleeves that you can buy that are made of sheer fabric and
made it look like you have tattoos on your arms. I might be tempted to wear
those. Might. But probably not. But no way would I ever get a tattoo.
Just not into that stuff.

I don't like them on anyone!

I was talking to a guy online who had those ear things. He said they would
get to stinking quite badly because there was open skin there. I was kind
of like... TMI!

Some of the piercings drive me nuts. I can see a little ring in the nose.
But a diamond? I would think that the backer would make you think that you
constantly had to blow your nose. And the lips piercings? That would bug
me too.

Yes, my ears are pierced but only once in each ear.

The younger ones (who aren't so young anymore) did it. They aren't in
the exact place where women put theirs, but they are in the back. My
son put his last name just below the belt line and our local team's
football logo high on his butt cheek. He already knew what I thought
about tattoos, so there was no asking permission - he came home and
they were there. I told him that at least they were hidden under his
clothing - and if (god forbid) anything bad ever happened to him at
least he had distinctive markings on his body for the purpose of
identification. That was the most positive thing I could think of to
say about it. 18 years later, I haven't changed my mind.

Huh. I can't stand nose rings, but I like a tiny sparkler in the nose
crease. I don't like them enough to do it to myself, but at least
they don't make me say Ew when I see them.

Okay... I searched. You are right. It appears that some guys have had
themselves tramp stamped. Note that in the Google results for male tramp
stamp the second hit was captioned "The male tramp stamp lives ion in
douchebaggery" and the picture gallery in it is mocking them. It is
similar to the mullet sightings sites. Hell, I am 62 and I know women
who have them and have seen lots of them, but despite going to two
different gyms, on different days, at different ours, so catching the
different crowds.... never seen one on a guy in a locker room.

His are on his arms, at least those I have been shown are on his
forearms. His wife is into them to. He posted pictures of a work in
progress on FaceBook about two years ago. While he is very muscular and
his are on his arms, she ... is not... and she is getting flabby fast.

At one time my son's current girlfriend had a nose ring. She started
taking it off before coming here because I could not resist commenting
on it and saying that I was always tempted to pull on them. Seriously...
they put rings on bulls' noses to control them.

Can't say they attract me to the wearers but Indian women seem to like
them. Me, they still remind me of early childhood around farms with
boars and bulls with nose rings.

I know that, but I'd never voice it to anyone unless... maybe... the
nose ring was placed the same way they are put in animals. The nose
rings I was thinking of are placed on the outer side of one nostril -
it seems like "nobody" does that animal control ring type thing these
days unless (of course) they're into S&M.
