Default Cloves

I first met cloves as a little girl in Brownies. We made clove-studded
oranges-what a wonderful scent I still remember-if they were for sale at
the grocery store I would buy one. I think they were intended to scent
your clothes/closet.

Intending to try making my aunt's cookie recipe I stopped at the spices
in Walmart and was shocked that a small container of ground cloves cost
over $4!

It made me think of frankincense and myrr for some reason :-) I stopped
at one of the dollar stores and a large bottle of ground cloves
cost...$1 so I bought it-10 years from now I will still have this bottle
of ground cloves lol. Hopefully it doesnt also have arsenic in it.

Now I know I can google this, but its much more fun to play Stump The
Band-no cheating, now...

What is a clove, what plant does it come from, where is it grown, how is
it harvested, and any connection to clover??

From the bible -- cloven hoof indicating an animal is kosher,
therefore meat may become kosher by sticking cloves into it.
