That's the one I've always used, too.

or:

Cream Cheese Frosting

INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until
creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners'
sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.

Yeah, that's the one. So, so good, but better if you double the
vanilla. Or instead of vanilla, you could use a double dose of
Chambord, and/or just a pinch of cocoa. It's not my favorite, but a
couple teaspoons of fresh lemon juice works. You can also add more
butter, probably even double the butter w/o adding any extra sugar. I
prefer buttercreams not very sweet.

Something I do with cream cheese is to blend it with heavy cream,
adding a small amount of pressed garlic and salt. This is a great
potato chip dip.

Yeah, pretty much. I always use salted real butter, but you can use
margarine or unsalted butter. (if you use unsalted, add a pinch of salt)

Really, Bryan, REALLY? That is why America is fat.

Make your cake in a sheet pan and you only need

4T soft butter
one 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
3C sifted powdered sugar

Wow, huge reduction. 2 oz butter instead of 4 oz, and 12 oz sugar
instead of 16 oz.

Cream cheese, DaVinci sugar-free syrup.

Add splenda/stevia to sweeten it more if its getting too thin.

Keep tasting til its just right. Works for sugar cookies also :-)

Still a waste of good cream cheese...I don't like frosted cake, I pick
it off and leave it on the plate, and for me frosting ruins the cake
by making the crust soggy... and besides I much prefer my cream cheese
on a bagel.

Uh, and that is *not* what was requested.

Frosting, dude. Cake, cupcakes, cookies. Not chips. Not Twinkies, either.

Here's a good one-

Formaggio al Borsini

8 ounces softened cream cheese
1/4 pound softened butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon dill
1/4 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Mix together and chill.
Allow to reach room temp to serve, with crusty Italian bread or crackers.

That *does* look good. Do you have a recipe for the cream cheese with
fresh vegetables in it. Noah's used to have a good one, but then they
started selling their schmere's prepackaged and I didn't like it
anymore.

I agree that your snipping was "stupid." You snipped the 6 sentences
where I wrote about frosting, and quoted the 2 where I went off on a
small tangent.

You're always going off on tangents. They deserve snipping.

But you didn't snip the tangential part, but maybe that concept is too
complicated for you.

I don't think that recipe from sf can be topped. In fact I almost
posted it for you for the frosting recipe, then I saw you mentioned it
so I hope I was able to stop it from sending.
