![]() Finally saw some RFC pics. OK, no offense but some of us are a bit long in the tooth. I'm old, mostly bald and have a gray beard so I can't criticize. I am proposing a RFC picture site from younger years. http://tinypic.com/r/t7lbgx/6 This is me in 1966 with my mother and sisters at the Imperial Palace in Japan. I ceased to be cute shortly afterwards. Even at that young an age I was interested in cooking and I loved sushi. You? |

I was hot for about 5minutes in 1977 but I don't have any pictures from
then. I'm told I was a Gerber baby though if you want my baby picture :-) I am a new great great aunt. The baby is 1/4 irish, 1/4 black, 1/2 german if I did my math correctly. Baby looks half chinese and half romanian gypsy. Genetics are fascinating. |

She told me tonight that her big brother taught her not to fart in the playground around other kids. He took her to the side and explained it to her. I am glad to say that to this day, she still remembers not to let one off in public. |

Thing is, IIRC, we started the "RFC Mugshots" page just before FB <gag> became a 'must-have-in-my-life' sensation (for many people) - who (mostly) seem to have the attitude "Who needs to send in a photo for some moldy old cooking newsgroup website when I can change my FB photo 10 times a day, if I so wish?" Ah well, sobeit. -- Cheers ChattyCathy [And no, I'm not going to change it to one of those 'upload your own Mugshot' pages either - and Steve W, Damsel - and a few of the other regulars might just remember why. <snicker>] |

Sure then we can put them all together and flip through them to make a movie and watch you age - kinda like the Portrait of Dorian Pawlowski. |

I was saying that in a tongue in cheek way. What is the facebook address for the RFC group anyway? I looked once but never was able to find it. |

And if yes, why would that be? Is it because they don't feel quite as 'anonymous' on FB and are askeered of being sued or somesuch? And if somebody <gasp> starts 'behaving badly' on FB (and please don't tell me that that never happens, I've seen enough hoo-ha in the press about it), one can 'unfriend' them... don't see much difference in doing that than using a killfile on Usenet. <shrug> -- Cheers ChattyCathy |

Maybe because the group has moderators who can throw troublemakers out of the group. Individual posts aren't approved or censored, but bad behavior is dealt with swiftly. Happened the other day... a guy got the boot, tried to rejoin under a phony name, got caught and got the boot again. >And if somebody<gasp> starts 'behaving badly' on FB > (and please don't tell me that that never happens, I've seen enough > hoo-ha in the press about it), one can 'unfriend' them... don't see much > difference in doing that than using a killfile on Usenet.<shrug> "Unfriend" is individual thing. Being a member of the group is another. Unlike usenet, the FaceBook group is a place where bad behavior has consequences. Moderated groups aren't for everyone, but you would be surprised at how well people can get along when they know that BS won't be tolerated. George L |
