I have that same problem following movie recommendations. I will
get around to seeing a movie when it hits tv. That way I don't care
if it sucks, there's more than one channel, not to mention the off
switch. Come on now Somebody, admit it, if you read every book or
watched every movie ever recommended to you, you wouldn't have time to
make decisions on your own. I agree with Mags about not being a big
youtube watcher. I can't even get it and I know I wouldn't like it if
I could. I might go there for something really special, something I
feel I've just got to see because it may not be around tomorrow - but
otherwise I'm not hunting for anything - too many disappointments. I
let things find me though, I'm open minded enough for that.

I am ...a human being!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqg7Ow4SNk8

And a slow reader. Wish I could read more, but it's really work for
me to get through a book. Vonnegut and Brautigan are the only ones I
can get through without a lot of effort... I just got "One flew over
the cuckoo's nest" Looking forward to reading that. I should before
my brother gets here at the end of the month for a visit. Then we can
watch the movie... maybe catch a baseball game after.

Look man, this is a food group, not a group for wannabe writers or
movie-watchers or people who go to baseball games. Take that crap
somewhere else. Now, you want to talk about what kind of snack you
prefer when reading Vonnegut, ok, that's enough to qualify as a food
related post. You want to talk about what you eat while watching a
movie or baseball game, that is ok too. But this is not a place to
discuss baseball or movies or reading material - it's a Goddamn food
group - got that punk? Stay on topic or I'll find out where you live
and send a bunch of my goons up to pay you a visit you won't soon
forget. Let me tell you about the goon squad. No wait, I'll do that
in another thread - or maybe even in this one at a later time. Right
now I'm hungry and want to eat some of these great chicken livers I've
got here. I'll tell you about the goon squad later. The're great
guys. They'll do anything for me. They will kill for me if I ask.
Please, don't make me ask.

They hit harder and you don't need as many of them.

I can't access youtube (and boy am I glad). Well, maybe not glad
exactly, but I can live without it. I'm sorry I can't access it and
return with my opinion. The name 'goon squad' has always made me
laugh. I picture a squad as something large enough that it doesn't
have to hide and just bulldozes it's way through things. But it's not
big enough to take an army, or even the cops, although come to think
of it, cops themselves are maybe the biggest goon squad of all.
Anyway, even without youtube I appreciate your post because I see
humor in the title alone - "goon squad secrets revealed here". Now I
can picture the FBI and the CIA and other operatives scanning that
site to see who goes there looking for the secrets. These are the
potential goons of the future. The site is a hoax, I found that out
yesterday from a CIA buddy who told me they set up the sight to catch
future goon squad people. Pretty tricky. I have never belonged to a
goon squad, but I did once belong to a goof squad, and in fact am
head squad-commander for my local goof squad chapter.

In the end, the goofs will take the goons,
TJ

I know this librarian who thinks "minions" are the Devil's servants.
Pretty scary!

Exactly how I feel about all the things I can't get or can't afford!

Never heard of them. I'll talk later today with a good friend
who is taking cookie classes as well as cookie tasting classes, and
hopefully from him I'll get an honest appraisal of the cookies you're
talking about. I only go with the experts.

Alright, wise guy, let me rephrase it then. I can't get it and
I know "there's a good chance I wouldn't like it" even if I could.
That's because I find most things not to my liking, regardless of
availability. Of course if I had youtube I'd probably go in there and
find some stuff I like. Hell, put me in a jail cell with only the
Bible, I might come out a bible scholar. If you think it's sour
grapes from me, you're wrong. I'm not complaining about not having
youtube - and I take back what I said about probably not liking it
anyway, because as I say, there undoubtedly would be things on there
I'd like. But that can be said of anything. You may not want to go
to the zoo, but when the day is over, even if hated the whole
experience, maybe there was one exhibit that made the trip
worthwhile. I'm as open as anyone else, probably more so - but I'm
not about to buy into constantly upgrading the things I own when I
can't afford to own the things I already have. So please forgive me
for apologizing to the guy who sent the youtube link for not being
able to access it. Forgive me for being generous enough to explain to
the guy that I did not click on his link and did not view his
offering.

For God's sake I'm sorry,

That's better.

I can access youtube and don't. Everytime some provides a charming
link I could **** my time away on. I don't.

All those links give the person providing them a feeling that
they're giving something to someone else when in reality they're
trying to "get" the other person to watch everything they watch.
Imagine if I gave you a list of 20 books to read and asked you to get
back with me in a week with a report on each one? It's not much
different the way these link providers recommend every last little
thing they see to every last little person they meet in their last
little life. If I had youtube access I might go there to view
something short that comes as a recommendation from one whose opinion
I value, but also one who doesn't do too much recommending. I try not
to recommend too many things, and I hope that when I do so my
recommendation might carry more weight. I can live without youtube
and a whole bunch of other things that i might otherwise use if they
came my way and someone offered to pay for their installment and
continued service payments.
