Default Patty Melt

the one i eat at makes it fresh and it is cooked, i always get tortillia
shells instead of chips as they are also made fresh, i can eat the salsa
with a spoon except on the rare occasion when it gets two much selantro and
turns it into soap, Lee

I wonder if it's a regional thing. I've never heard of TI dressing on a patty
melt. (This is Southern California). To me it's grilled onions and a patty
on rye bread. Normally each of the two pieces has some sort of proletarian
cheese on it.

As an aside, I once got one that was made with sourdough - an affront to the
senses under any circumstances and doubly so on a patty melt. Can't remember
any other time in my life I sent a dish back to the kitchen.
