Default Maple Syrup

I tried to get that to happen once for fun. I think it had to be
diluted 1/4th syrup to 3/4ths water before it would work. Crazy college
student and young single engineers do wird stuff like that sometimes. I
was like a scene out of "Big Bang Theory" for a few years. ;^)

Most be pretty crappy dilute syrup if it really needed to be kept cold.

I've had syrup go moldy in the can (I buy a gallon at a time) but
rarely. Mold is no problem, though. It is only on the surface and is
easily filtered out through using a few layers of cheesecloth. Then
rinse the can well, bring the syrup briefly to a boil and put it back
into the container.

I trust that you realize that it has to meet certain requirements to be
sold as syrup, and that the comment you responded to was quoted from the
linked site.
