There was a discussion about it, so
I ordered "20 Minute Menus" and received it the other day. Not bad.

However, I also ordered another book:
"Healthy Cooking for Two (or just you)", by
Frances Price. I like it - good sounding stuff plus scaled
(obviously) for just one or two people.
Lots of tips, too.

Dora

So you (as my grandfather used to say) need to stand twice to make a
shadow?

blake won't be STANDING any time soon. That's what merryb meant. I'm sure it
was just a thoughtless comment rather than mean.

Why can't I repeat a saying about being thin without someone who was
not the person I was speaking to taking offense? I'm pretty sure
Blake knew exactly what was meant, which apparently merryb did not.

christ, i didn't even notice.

story time: i was waiting at an intersection for the light to change, kind
of craning my neck to see the walk/don't walk sign. the light changed, and
a young woman next to me turned and said 'o.k., you can walk now' and was
instantly mortified, turning all kinds of red. i told her not to worry, it
was the funniest thing i'd heard all day.

your pal,
blake

Well, if it's story time ...

My husband, who had Parkinson's and major hand tremors, had assembled
the whiskey sour ingredients and poured them into the cocktail shaker.
Brand-new son-in-law, standing by, asked politely, "May I shake for
you?"

Himself thanked SIL and said he was shaking pretty well on his own.
