Amazon order arrived!
I ordered a new probe thermometer from Amazon, and got these books along
with it: _Screen Doors and Sweet Tea_ by Martha Hall Foose _Latin Evolution_ by Jose Garces _NOMA_ by René Redzepi I know that Christine already has the first one; her blackeyed peacakes were what prompted me to get it too. Lin looked through the Garces book and seemed to like it a lot; I haven't had a chance to peruse it at length yet. _NOMA_ just might be a coffee-table book. It's *loaded* with gorgeous pictures of the food, to the point where it takes a bit of searching to find the recipes. I haven't dug deeply into that book yet either. Bob |

Bring them on down for a visit..maybe a long weekend sometime. My company just got me a really nice place to stay, with an ocean view...Shell Beach to be exact. Right next to Pismo Beach. Will send you all pictures of the place, privately, on Facebook. Looks like the place has a charcoal grill..maybe can find some red oak and cook from one of my newish cookbooks: Seven Fires. It sounds wonderful. I hadn't heard of Seven Fires until yesterday. I'll have to take a peek at it. I buy very few recent cookbooks though--and then only when I have a good discount. -- Jean B. |

.. It's *loaded* with gorgeous > pictures of the food, to the point where it takes a bit of searching to find > the recipes. Probably too nice to use in the kitchen. You might want to cover it with clear wrap. I have a cookbook stand which is clear plastic and covers the book nicely - but I just never get it out. |
