Default Lunch on the grill today :)

Nice weather and not windy, so fired up the grill.

Menu:
Sweet potatoes
Yellow Corn-on-the-cob
Pork chops, marinated in Worcester(shire) sauce and peanut oil
Tomato, onion and sliced fennel salad (not grilled)

Everything turned out perfectly! Usually my grilled corn gets slightly
overcooked, but was very nice for a change

There was a watermelon for dessert, but we were too full, so that's for
dinner.

How was your lunch?

Pedestrian, but good: balogna sandwiches on wild-rice-and-onion bread,
with thin-sliced onions.

Dinner will be peppers stuffed with a mixture of barley, chorizo,
onions, carrots, and parmesan cheese. Really looking forward to it.

If you have any feta or ricotta salada and fresh basil or mint, try
that watermelon salad (pepper generously). It's very good.

It was toasted banana bread with cantaloupe and french vanilla ice
cream. Dinner will be grilled lamb sirloin steak and ratatouille.

Got a recipe to post? I've never made chocolate pudding that didn't
come from a box. I've made mousse, but that's different.

Peter Reinhart's wild-rice and onion? That is a terrific loaf of
bread.

Sounds very nice! TY for the reminder. Haven't made chocolate pudding
all summer.

Sounds good. Did you make the bread yourself? Interesting combo for
bread.

OK interesting combination of cottage cheese and green chile stew! Had
some chicken green chile at TMU's craft group this morning. The cook
threw in garbanzos/chickpeas; not bad if inauthentic for around here.

Add some fish sauce and coriander/cilantro leaves to that

Interesting choice of meals! Haven't made biscuits and gravy all summer.

Or chopped cherry peppers, kimchee, and Korean chile paste.

TY. Your pudding recipe, minus the cornstarch, will make a decent frozen
custard, methinks. The vanilla FC is about to run out Can't imagine
where it's gone LOL.

Don't mind cheese in soup. Just that particular combination. If there's
only heat in any chile recipe, that's too many chiles ;P

In a cold salad, it would be nice. We often mix yoghurt and mayo as part
of that sort of salad dressing.

Ya! Just assumed the newish fridge/freezer was hungry... Might add some
Mexican chocolate to the mix; works nice in frozen custards, once it's
melted.

Lucky you! The two most common brands around here are Ibarra (which we
use) and Abuelita. Occasionally there are other brands but those come
and go.
