Food Network™ Immersion Hand Blender
now $39.99 at Khol's

Only 150 Watt but it might be food enough for my purpose; barely soup
with meat (NO veggies); I do not eat pureee veggies

Any comment/opinion on this?

Mandy, I would not pay $40 for a 150 watt immersion blender. The
wattage is too low, nor do I know the make. Check out the Braun line.

Manda, I just recently bought this Cuisinart. 200 watts, plenty of
power to do what I need. It's a brand
I know and trust and it's a great price.

I wouldn't trust a no name blender.

I looked at the link to consumersearch you gave and then read review
at amazon, target, etc. I was also looking for a low priced blender
that is compact primarily for protein shake for my brother. (He used
to live with my sister and so now, I am trying to give him stuff I
feel that he would use or would use if he sees it).

Now, I am thinking to give my brother my Magic Bullet set and get a
KitchenAid KHB300 set for myself. You can skip the story in the next
paragrpahy if desire the brief version:)

After checking review and prices at Amazon, Target (has only the
KHB100 model) and Macy (online store has both KHB100 and KHB300 models
but the store doesn't carry KHB300 but on sale with rebate though I am
not sure about shipping fee), I checked at online Bed Bath and Beyond.
BBB is giving free shipping. To use my 20% coupon, I called the store
but they don't have it and can order it for me if I come to the store
so that I can use the coupon. I happened to mention that Macy's online
store is selling at $89.99, she offered to match the price and that
I'd still be able to use 20% coupon and also get $10.00 mail-in
rebate. I didn't say it to get a price match but good thing I did.
This reminds me of how I got a sweet deal on HP OfficeJet printer in
2004 when I told OfficeMax that Fry's was selling it at $200 and yours
at $200 only after rebate. The manager called and checked. Then sold
me at $200 and I still got $50 rebate. Later, when I was at Fry's, I
tool a close look and Fry's one for $2000 was-refurbished one.
Anyway,

So, with Bed bath and Beyound giving free shipping, 20% coupon, and
$10 off, the total would come to be about the same or lesss if I were
to get a kitchenaid immersion blender for me and a low priced compact
belnder for my bro. The Cuisinart one you have would work fine for me
but needing to get a smoothie blender for my brother was the deciding
factor).

So, I have pretty much decided to get Kitchenaid KHB300 unless anyone
knows about a negative point on this:
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=111297&

I did look for consumer report and I got this:
http://products.howstuffworks.com/ha...er-reviews.htm. Though
Cuisinart stick blender and this Kitchenaid were on the list, your
link gave lower price, making me to start thinking about the set idea
leading to deciding for it to play it safe by not buying the low
price range compact blender for my brother. If not my brother, his
roommate might break it. Magic Bullet would be sturdier for them.

I see. May be I should consider this over the Kitchenaid KHB300
except that since I am giving my Magic Bullet 17 peiece set to my
brother - I told him that he could use the 4 smootie cups by filling
whatever juice and frozen fruits ahead and then add protein power
just before making potein shake and then just rinse and pile up the
cups for washing later when all cups were used up ( boy, did he like
that idea) , I'd need a powerful motor to make smoothies as well. I
still do not know the wattage on KitchenAid. I should have called the
manufacturer.
