Wow, they sure have you trained. I patronize the mom & pop shops that
make a much better sandwich and even charge me less because they don't
spend the money on marketing to train people how good they are..

Because corporations don't get to take advantage of the free
"marketing" embodied in institutions like Mother's Day and Father's
Day, which are blatant attempts "to train people how good they [moms
and pops] are."

I think he said: BECAUSE CORPORATIONS DON'T GET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
THE FREE "MARKETING" EMBODIED IN INSTITUTIONS LIKE MOTHER'S DAY AND
FATHER'S DAY, WHICH ARE BLATANT ATTEMPTS "TO TRAIN PEOPLE HOW GOOD THEY
[MOMS AND POPS] ARE."

When I was working there was Subway just down the road from our office.
Right across the street there was a family run deli. The deli sandwiches
were freshly made just before the lunch rush, and if they didn't have
what you wanted they would make on up. They had good quality cold cuts
and cheese and nice fresh rolls. I liked the deli sandwiches a lot more
than Subway and they were less than half the price. If I am in the city
around lunch time I still drop by that deli to grab a quick sandwich.
You can't beat it.
