I have written my blog about rec.food.cooking in my website

www.cabgbypasssurgery.com

Please go there, and click DIET, FOODS, AND COOKING under the categories.

You may have to click directly on "Eat right, it's easy" to see full text of
the blog.

Read what is written there.

If you like it, fine.

If you don't, fine.

End of discussion.

If you do have a website, and would like me to link to it, contact me. If
you don't have a website, get one. If you don't think anyone should send me
their link so that I might help them increase the traffic to their website,
get some therapy.

Do you profit financially by how many people click on your website?

Fine.

:-)

One small suggestion. At least one news client (mine) won't go to a URL
if the first part is missing. This isn't a big deal, since I can copy
and paste it with just a few keystrokes, but still...

So add:

http://

to the front.

Another thing you may wish to do is add a .sig file. I'm pretty sure
Outlook will let you do that pretty easily, and it will be automatically
added to every post you make. Have it start with a double hyphen
followed by a space, on a line by itself, so it won't get quoted with
every reply.

No, I do not. I only benefit when they click out to one of the advertisers,
and then am only paid by per hundred or per thousand clicks.

Ah.. so you need people to come to your site so they can click on the
advertisers you allow to use your site. I see.
That is one reason I rarely to never check out strangers websites.

No. As stated in the first couple of paragraphs introducing the site, the
purpose of the site is to give people a first person account of what to
expect during a coronary artery bypass graft surgery, hospitalization, and
recovery. No one has to click on anything advertised there unless they are
interested in that.

Same way any other website on the Internet works.

On my browser, when I type it with www., it automatically converts it to
http: ......... I did not realize that it would not do it out of a
hyperlink. My traffic has been phenomenal the past few days, and I thought
it was from some newsgroup posts. So, actually zero was traffic from me
posting my sig line in newsgroups. It was actual traffic from direct
traffic sources. 80%. so the keywords are working. Search engines, 16.67%
and referring sites 3.33%

Thanks again, Roy.

And it all would have not changed were it not for all the good people here.

Personally, if I were a CABG patient seeking out information relevant to
that health status including eating and cooking for said condition, I'd find
your website less valuable and accurate if you had links to generic cooking
and eating blogs and websites that have absolutely nothing to do with
cooking or eating for that particular condition. Sure, you'd have more
content making your site look " bigger and better", but in the end I'd find
that extra content would cheapen the experience overall and reduce your
credibility on anything actually CABG related. I wouldn't come back after
the first visit. But, I'll freely admit I'm overly judgmental about things
like that.

Just my consumer perspective,
Jinx

It actually speeds up browsing.

The only overhead is matching all fetched URL's against a (yes -
fairly large) list of regular expressions. The algorithm that do
that are extremely efficient and are a breeze for a modern processor
(2Ghz+). And there is practically no disk access.

The time saved by *nbot* fetching the link to the ads more than make
up for it. CPU cycles are extremely cheap compared to
network/internet throughput.
