Default partlyOT--- Landlord woes

Me and my partner rent a flat, and we have started to have problems..
The landlord came in our flat, and told us we were not allowed to put
up a smoke detector.. I Called the fire station, and nothing more was
said for almost 3 days.. Last week, my partner hung a night light
outside.. Today the landlord calls him, and Yells at him "WHAT DO YOU
MEAN PUTTING HOLES IN MY WALLS" and demanded the light, AND the fire
alarm come down.. We would move, but we are in lease, Its getting
rediculous.. there are laws for detectors. What are our options? Can
we get her for harassment?? My partner just called me crying.. Im at
my mothers, I didnt hear the actual call..

First off...It's "My partner and I". If you and your partner did not
live in a flat then you wouldn't have problems. Allowing your partner
to hang out a night light was a big mistake, especially if he/she
didn't talk to you first about it. Suggestion: get rid of the partner.
Also, you're asking for suggestion on the WWW so just what kind of
suggestions do you think you'll get from someone in Zimbawi?? Sounds
like you also have a cry baby partner. Again, dump the sissy. You're
at your mothers and didn't hear the actual call...how do you know
there was even a call? Maybe the cry baby partner is making it all up
just to get attention or maybe he/she's crying in joy that you're at
mommies place. Either way....no one really cares. Buh bye!

The above is an example of why we switched from being residential landlords
to commercial landlords. Who owns the building? Who pays the taxes and
insurance? Who pays for repairs after you move out and leave holes all over
the place? We have about $25,000 in judgments due us from former tenants.
Can we collect them? Good Luck!

I disagree. I'd say that this is *mostly* if not entirely OT.

You have done it more than once, and it has been pointed out to you on more
than on occasion........ therefore, you're too damn stupid, or you're a sock
puppet for the trolls/stalkers.

Either way, you've just earnt yourself a holiday in my idiot bin.

See you in 100 days...... if you're still here.

OMG peter you are just plain SAD to put it in those terms! LOL!

1: Nobody could care less if they're in your killfile

2: You NEVER killfile anyone who you think may comment about you,
especially if on a regular basis.

3: You've tripped up so many times over the years by either replying
directly to someone supposedly in your killfile, or indirectly referring
to same in a later post.

"Kent" has displayed a complete lack of intelligence, and an overwhelming
abundance of incompetence thus far. For being too damn stupid to take
advice from others as to trolls/stalkers etc...... he gets a holiday in my
100 day sin bin.

And when you read this "Kent"..... most legit rfc'ers, don't crosspost to
any non-cooking ng's.

Nope, but if it's a funny story, go right ahead :-)

You did, however, just remind me of the very first time I was in
California. I met up with some people and one of them gave me his business
card. I looked at it and thought, "Jeez, some people out here have really
high expectations of their kids when they name them!!".

I turned around to him and said "Anyway, Jesus........"

He stopped me there and then and said "It's Hey-Zeus, man, Heyzeus." :-)

Then there was the big black lady at LAX whom I tried to get directions
from, seeing as she was in the "information" booth!!

In my broad Aussie accent (which till then I didn't know I had!!) I asked
her how I could get to Perris, Perris Valley.

She comes back with "Honeeeeeeeey, youse is in da wronnnnnng country!! You
needs to find a plane to France to go to Paris!!"

It must be my South Australian accent ;-P

It seems I stuck out like a sore thumb during my soldiering years, as most
thought I was an Officer in disguise because I spoke "with a silver spoon
in my mouth"!!

All I can say is that Sth Aust has the most advanced teaching curriculum
of all Australian States ;-)

But then...... there's my sister. Put a straw hat on her and a piece of
hay sticking out of her mouth and she would be the ubiquitous cow-cockey!!

I *really* must be an alien, just visiting!!
