How original! Meat and taters and dirt. Do you see the filth on the bottom of that roasting tray closest to the front? Enlarge the picture a bit. God, it resembles a garbage can, a dirty one at that. pavane |

Not cooked yet... I like to do all my prep early morning, I don't like to prep food right before I eat, especially raw meat... already seasoned - black pepper, msg, olive oil - plastic wrap is while it sits in the fridge, a nice hunk of top round, bought two yesterday, one is in the freezer. It'll go into the oven soon though, probably another hour, ~4 PM so it's ready to carve at ~6 PM... devils are already waiting. I still need to decide on a salad dressing... probably apple cider vinegar, evoo, herbs/spices. I'll try to remember plated pics. Food needn't be fancy schmancy to be good, in fact a basic salad, plain meat n' taters, simple 'sparaguys is better than overly fercocktah. In fact I decided to do this because I'm disgusted by the TIAD crap I've seen posted here of late. So, do ya think I oughta crap up the 'sparaguys with 'shrooms? hehehe |

I also like to let steaks (not roasts tho') come to room temp before tossing them into a hot pan or grill. > plastic wrap is while it > sits in the fridge, a nice hunk of top round, bought two yesterday, > one is in the freezer. I imagine they are. <g> I sometimes make Tartar out of top round with a dip of raw egg yolk and soy sauce when I'm in the mood for raw meat. I remove ALL fat tho' when I do that. Can't stand raw beef fat. > I still need to decide on a salad dressing... > probably apple cider vinegar, evoo, herbs/spices. Photo two: I see you own a knuckle grater like mine. I use it a lot - to grate a bit of cheese, some carrot, even ginger. It graduated to a counter caddy, it gets used so often. |

Top round makes an excellent oven roast, much more beefy flavor than rib. I don't care for the texture or flavor of rare beef, it's mushy and tastes/smells uncooked/raw, not even juicy... how many cook rare why bother to light the oven, just season and slice. Dead rare roast beef smells like butcher shop, not at all appetizing except to the TIADers. >> My girl arriving for bread and carrots: >> http://i48.tinypic.com/qpmfm1.jpg > >Spoilt! ;-) Yeah, she's got me trained. During winter I keep it right up close to my house... my barn is too far to trudge through a heavy snow, and no electric there... and anyway tractors are designed to get dirty. Whenever there's news of an impending snow storm I put the tractor up on the driveway and backed right up close to the house, at the ready for the first big push. I've learned that the less I drive over the snow and compact it the easier to plow. It's snowing here now but not anything like the news forcasted. It's been snowing for three hours now and still less than a 1/2" fell... unless this picks up soon we won't be getting much snow in the Catskills. |

Your Kubota is a nice tractor and I like the way you took a Woods front end loader and swapped the bucket for a plow... that is a nice set-up. Do those turf tires give you enough traction if the snow gets really deep or do you add chains if needed? George L |

Many people are chronically dehydrated. When I eat asparagus, it only takes maybe 8 hours to clear. Maximum. I consume about 1 gallon of water per day. -- Peace!
