Quite by accident I came across a book by Diane Mott Davidson a few
years ago and, intrigued by the title, read it. The story was quite enjoyable, but ohhhhh... the recipes! Each of her novels includes a dozen or so for dishes that are mentioned in the story line, and I've never made a recipe from one of her books that didn't garner rave reviews. Her cookie recipes are to die for! I've since learned there's an entire genre of culinary mysteries, with a number of different authors writing mysteries which involve cooking and food, all of whom include recipes in their novels, but IMO the story lines aren't very good and there are rarely more than a couple of recipes. But Davidson's books.....worth buying for the recipes alone, although they're a good read! Anyone here share my interest? |
