Hi, do you know of a bakery or market in the Philadelphia vicinity
that makes a mean apple pie, better than mom's? If so, send your
suggestion my way, please. You can email me at

thanks!!!

If mom is a decent baker it just isn't going to happen. Bakeries tend
to use processed apple pie filling and even small bakeries use machines
to mix their dough. In order to get a home made apple pie you need to
get cooking apples, not canned filling. Nice flaky pie pastry is made by
hand in small batches. Some bakeries make better pies than others, but
nobody produces pies on any scale that are as good as or better than
home made.
