LF: easy fondue dips
 
I got a fondue pot for Chrismtas & would like to make up a few dips
other than the more well known cheese/bread & chocolate/fruit.

I will fondue beef, some prawns & cut-up veggies. Any favourites?

Easy? For beef, mayonnaise with curry powder. Sour cream with
horseradish. For shrimp, soy sauce blenderized with (peeled, chunked)
ginger. Or wasabi. For veg (mushrooms, zucchini, whole cherry
tomatoes), the cooking in oil ought to be dressing enough -- maybe a
little lemon juice.

Just curious... is your fondue pot metal or ceramic?

Pot is metal (porcelain) covered. Not a good one but if I keep the
flame low I should be OK viz temperature.

Sounds like it's better to boil oil than for
chocolate/cheese.

If you have a 1 quart or smaller Le Cruset (or similar type)
pot, you can use it successfully over for cheese/chocolate.
