Default Microwave makes Plate VERY HOT

Not all plates are microwave safe (many aren't, or are only safe for very
brief heatings).

Next time you're at Crate & Barrel, check the descriptions of the various
dishes they sell. You'll see how many of them are not really microwave
safe.

Tsk. Uncalled for...
Unless you were referring to yourself of course! ;-D

I learned a long time ago that there are just some plates
that you do NOT put in the m'wave! This person was obviously
very young and still learning.

Melamine will do that. I can remember years ago trying to warm a cup of
something in the 'wave and getting a hot cup with cold liquid. IIRC, it was
not just hot, it was way more than I expected as you describe.

My plates do the same thing. They 'say' they are microwave safe but the plate
gets hot and the food doesn't.
Question for the OP? Do you find the plates chip vary easily?
