Default wax dripping from candles

Does anyone know how to remove the was that dripped onto the white
kitchen sink accidentally when my son-in-law was trying to pour out the
wax. Please advise to

Let it dry; should scrape right up. Then use a sudsy sponge and some hot
water for the residue.
