Default 10 Biggest Brain Damaging Habits

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood
sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to
the brain causing brain
degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease
in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer
disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and
nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain
development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling
polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing
about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep
will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping

Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of
carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to
brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness.
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in
effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain
stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

I agree with this too. I like the term "economy of motion." It ties into
other threads here, like people putting dishes in odd places. I have a deeper
drawer where I like to keep tongs and ladles and such. To the left of the
stove is a more shallow drawer where I keep stirring spoons and other
utensitls.

As for me, I don't talk much and was the one always reading the Time/Life books
at my aunt's house during holidays. Yeah, Aunt Tillie made the best turkeys
and those wonderful cakes. She must be 86 now.

Well, for a start, nicotine is a toxic chemical that is used to kill
grasshoppers. It is also considered to be more addictive than opiates. That
is just for starters, there are many more horrors associated with tobacco
use. By the way, you tobacco addicts out there can grow your own. Get seeds
here. You will still kill yourselves but at least you will save some bucks.
Tour a cancer ward if you want a real enlightening experience.

Irrational anger on the part of militant nonsmokers upon getting
a tiny whiff of a Partagas #10 being consumed after a fine dinner.

Does anyone know if apples are still good for you? An apple a day
keeps the doctor away, you know the one.

IIRC, apples contain soluble fibre, pectin, which helps to lower
cholesterol. I stand corrected, however.

You know the old saying. Everything in moderation. Too many apples
intruduces too much sugar, but one a day is probably a healthy thing.

breakfast with fiber is always good because it is healthy for you esp.
as you get older or if you are a woman...Plus, anything with fiber
such as bran will fill you up and not leave you ravinous until lunch.
I think that the best time to eat is about 1 hour after you get up.
YOu want your system to wake up and then you want to jump start your
metabolism by giving it fuel.
