Of course, health codes (in the US) generally only prohibit direct
contact with food for ready to serve food; you can touch it with bare
hands if it's going to be cooked (though I'd imagine a lemon in the
mouth would be prohibited regardless).

Yep, it was Michael Chiarella.

A lot of stuff that these TV chefs do where they get their hands
messed (squeezing lemons through their fingers, sepatating eggs with
their fingers) seems to be someone's idea of sensuous. It takes the
same amount of time to separate an egg with the shells, plus you don't
have to worry about washing up vs. leaving egg handprints all over the
kitchen and utensils.

Uh, I think I got a brain cramp when I keyed that in. I meant to say
half the juice remains on their hands.

It makes me want to wash my hands. Ick. Luckily I don't see that

Yeah, I imagine, although his teeth only touched the peel of the
lemon, not anything anyone was going to eat. Seemed pretty effective,
too. Me, I'll just use my wooden reamer.

Shoot, I wash my hands before I empty the dishwasher. I would hope

Yeah, really :> The more I think about it, the more I wonder why
people wouldn't take off their rings when mixing stuff by hand. I do
it (as does my mother) without thought of hygiene per se, more because
we'd have to take them off anyway later in order to clean the stuff
out from under them.

I saw bits of that by accident. If I were a hard core fan, I would've
TiVo'd it. I've never seen a bride so happy with the *process* of getting
married. Most seem so stressed out that it's amazing anyone wants into that
mess.
