Six days shalt thy labour and do all they work.
And on the seventh day, thou shalt defrost thy freezer. What a PITA but
it's DONE. Two-fifths of the contents are fruits and juices for jams and jellies. Want some jam, Little Boy? -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.me.com/barbschaller - Who Said Chickens Have Fingers? 10-30-2009 |

I've never had to defrost a freezer, but a friend once did my old chest type one for me. What a puzzle of I-don't-know-whats it was. Never again. thank you. The High Desert USMC's "Miss Jeanine" has been honored, an important little. For this year's Christmas quick breads and cookies baking, I have use of one of the Food Services surplus off-station walk-in freezers. The SSgt granting me access has set up a 2'x6' roll-in with many shelves that are independant trays I am single-layer putting all my well wrapped breads on, and I'll finish up with several containers of wax paper layered cookies as I proceed. This weekend was a finish to the five different breads, with 23 mini-loaves of Damsel's Mom's Cherry-Chocolate-Chip-Banana-Nut (that you have to say as one word, it's the rule) Bread. Next weekend I'll start on the four to five different cookies, hopefully to include a very new to me one that is similar to York's Chocolate Mints (especially for my daughter, the nut intolerant one of we). I also cook up, or make something for my office to lunch or snack on all week, and this week it is to be the just now finished Used Pasta Salad, along with three of the Christmas mini-bread loaves the Marines volunteer "testing" for me each year. The salad is referred to as used because I mix into the pasta the endws of whatever raw veggies may be in need of use, always different. This one has carrots, celery, water chesnuts, both black and green olives, a green apple, a wee bit of shredded cabbage, black beans and three or four splashes of different seasonings as well as a rather tangy olive oil dressing. This evening I am now one TiredPicky! |
