Default Pet Peeve, Measuring Bananas

The other one that really bugs me is a box or bag of something. I
wish I knew for sure how big the boxes of golden raisins and Zante
currants were in 1970. I am sure that bags of cranberries use to
weigh 16 ounces. Now they are 12 oz. Chocolate chips are another. It
can really mess up a recipe if you do not have any idea about the
previous weights.

sing it, sister. (brother?) or '1 can' of something. (before you jump
on me, not everything in a can is cream of mushroom soup.)

At least refer to the size can....a #10 can for instance is a certain
amount/weight. You can take it from there as can sizes can be found
readily.

sure. but even '#10 can' is a little arcane the days. why not '8 oz.
