That's the kind of squash I bought this afternoon. Baked whole at 400
deg for a couple hours, then halved, seeds and strings and slimey stuff removed. Pulp removed and smashed with butter, a little cinnamon, and some maple syrup. Some for The Widow Dorothy, most for me. The smart thing to do would be to freeze some. Bought a box of brussels sprouts and boiled them. Been nibbling - it's pretty hard to leave them alone. Will have them another day. And green beans‹I keep waiting to run into some that are past their prime and it hasn't happened yet. A few romas for salad use. Red potatoes, a few boiled, peeled, diced and browned in olive oil and butter. Dinner was baked walleye filets, the potatoes, and some green beans. Sucks to be‹‹oh, wait; that upset a couple people.
