Rosie,

Sure he's nuts. A terrorist dictator mentioning democracy and equality?!?
Moving the UN to Libya?

Bacon & melted sharp cheddar cheese on two toasted English muffins with a
little unsalted butter and a tall glass of ice cold milk.

I overdid it, worried about how long he would go on... and on... and on...

Kinda/sorta sorry TV coverage cut him off. Like you, I'd've loved to see
him further melt down.

Best,

Andy

You missed my point. Obama is big on apologizing for all of the imagined
past sins of the US. Did he do that yet at the UN or is it a coming
attraction?

Methinks those F111 bombing Gheddafi's flak and chemical factory have been a
nice thing.

After Lockerbie, Qadaffi was Evil Incarnate for about a dozen years.
Then geologists from Texaco made a terrorism-nullifying discovery in
Libya.

I can agree with your first sentence, the rest is not true. The latest
oil discovery was made by Arabian Gulf Oil Company, a wholly owned
company of National Oil Corporation of Libya. In addition Texaco was
wholly merged with Chevron oil in 2001.

If this is Obama's biggest mistake as president, I will be very happy.
Every president makes mistakes. Bush and Bush had Iraq on their hands
and neither one has uttered an apology over their mistakes. Clinton had
his mistake of having an affair with Monica Lewinski, for which he did
apologize. This mistake ranks right up there with Obama's stupid comment
about the Special Olympics. It will be forgotten in a few weeks. I agree
though that it wasn't a good idea to allow Qadafi to visit this country
and speak before the United Nations.

I'm sure it was nice of the US to give the UN a home. Still, the more
that the US acts like it "owns" the UN, the less respect the US and the
UN will get from countries that don't always agree with everything the
US does.

Like Gaddafi or don't like him, he has been the head of state of Libya
since 1970. If the US gets to decide who is "allowed" to attend the UN
and speak before them, how much is the rest of the world going to
believe that the UN has any independence from the US?

I have always believed that people who speak before the UN will garner
the respect that they deserve. I thought Kruschev made a fool of
himself when he took off his shoe, pounded the speaker's podium with it
and proclaimed that "we will bury you".

Regarding Iraq, Bush #2 was trying to tend to Bush #1's bitter "family
business."

Clinton was MORE of a BUM!!!!!! for lying to congress and America!!!!!! He
WAS impeached!!!!!!

GW Bush shouldn't've been elected in the first place, now that history has
been recorded.

Obama is looking more and more like a con man in a straight face, if you
ask me.

Geeze I have to laugh sometimes at you seppos .

The Libyan is a nut case for sure . But by allowing him to *prove *
once again in such a forum as the UN
might just be half clever . After this charade and debacle there can
be no doubt that the tent loving murderous thug
has not really got his act together.

Hells bells moving the UN to Libya . Had to laugh .

Re Obama poor ******* IMO he is not doing a half bad job given the
extreme situation and ppoisoned chalice he inherited.

That said he appears to be juggling a lot of political knives in the
air the trick will be to catch them
without decapitating himself.

Given that The USA (now a socialist country it would appear ) given
that the Govt now owns most of the countrydue to bail outs etc
I find it rather ironic that the champion of free enterprise & the
American dream (cough splutter ) is now a basket case
buit the sheep voters have not yet got the message .(so it appears)

One thing that I do admire Obama for he is one yank who at last is
starting to stand up to Israel and may begin to
give the middle east a bit of a level playing field .
Albeit 30 years too late

On the plus side America is forever to be acknowledged for some of
its interventions when others just sat on thier hands.
IMO Iraq was certainly a blunder dictated by a liar , scumbag and
possible nutty god botherer GWB who got the coalition of the trusting
into a mired bun fight with "modified intelligence " acting as the
catalyst to Ignore best advice from Hans Blix .

UN dont start me -if ever a gravy train ever needed to be
seriously looked at it is that organisation.
Poor thing is hamstrung by the power of veto ------- China is
laughing all the way to the bank .

But they have great food (as all good gravy trains do )
Just my 2 cents worth

Very true. I guess Obama should have just not sat in attendance during the
spew that poured out from Qadafi. But come to think of it, they didn't show
Obama the whole time, so maybe he did leave. I would have anyway.

When do you suppose Fidel Castro is coming to town?

Let them ALL speak. The bad ones hang themselves. What a horse's ass Iran's

I think it's funny, frankly. "The land of Free Speech"! Where's that?
When Obama wanted to give a national speech to schoolkids, urging them
to stay in school, some people said that we shouldn't "let" him. Nobody
was saying that the kids had to watch, nobody was saying that the
teachers had to turn on the tv and many didn't. They didn't show it to
their class because they didn't vote for him. Talking about poor
losers. He's the President of the US. So what that they voted for
someone else? Can't they accept that he won, and they should support
him in his job, even if they didn't vote for him? I guess not. So now
people (granted, probably different people) are saying that Obama
shouldn't have "let" Gaddafi speak at the UN. The "land of Free Speech"
doesn't even pay lip service to free speech.

jesse helms lives!

the latest dope i could find is that we're a little behind:

The White House expressed disapproval Thursday with comments United Nations
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon made to members of Congress that the U.S. is
a "deadbeat" nation for being behind on its U.N. dues.

"I would note for the Secretary-General that his word choice was
unfortunate, given the fact that the American taxpayer is the largest
contributor to the United Nations," said White House press secretary Robert
Gibbs at his daily briefing.

On Wednesday, Ban pointed out to members of the House Foreign Relations
Committee that although the United States pays 22 percent of the U.N.'s
$4.86 billion operating budget, the country is always late with its dues.
The U.S. is now is approximately $1 billion behind, a figure that will soon
increase to $1.6 billion. In the private meeting, he referred to the U.S.
as a "deadbeat" nation, angering members of the committee including ranking
Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla.

"Given the contribution that the American taxpayer makes," Gibbs said, it
"would be appropriate to acknowledge that role."

Moon on Wednesday evening issued a statement saying that the U.S.
"generously supports the work of the U.N., both in assessed and voluntary
contributions" and that he "enjoys an excellent working relationship with
the United States and appreciates the many ways that it supports the United
Nations."

Be happy you are not in NYC today. The place was nuts with cops, road
closures and emergency vehicles driving the wrong way on city streets (NYPD
set up single lanes for UN vehicles on 42nd St. that were not exactly in the
middle of the road).
There were cops searching bags in subway stations that have never seen cops
before. Second Ave was closed to the East River with cops searching everyone
who wanted to go past there.
At Penn Station and Grand Central Station there were soldiers w/machine guns
walking around-yeah, we've seen them before-but not in a long time.

I just hope that Chavez, Ughmajinedad, and Quadaffy all get a good Bronx
cheer as their planes take off out of the city.

Barak,

You best apologize to America for allowing Qadafi (Qadaffi) to speak in
front of the UN and the world.

Biggest mistake of your presidency so far, imho. I know you're sweeping up
lots of GW Bush's problems out of your way but this brilliant dumb idea of
yours is way beyond reproach.

Andy
