Just to clarify my nick
I am both "phaeton" and "U.N.", simultaneously, ubiquitously,
surreptitiously, randomly and nonchalantly. I was one of those who lost direct Usenet access when AT&T dropped the service. While I miss using an actual newsreader, I haven't yet found another NNTP service to belong to. Hence, I am using Google Groups, which I know all of you love to pieces. :oP A strange side effect is that my first post in any thread shows up as being from "phaeton", but any subsequent posts after that show up as being from "U.N.". It's not something I planned and not something I'm doing on purpose, and I'm not sure why it's happening. So now you know. I'm not posting from alts or anything like that. But I could if you like. -J |

I don't mind it to look at threads I've deleted, but I couldn't use it as a permanent primary news reader. > >A strange side effect is that my first post in any thread shows up as >being from "phaeton", but any subsequent posts after that show up as >being from "U.N.". It's not really a *problem*, and I'm sure that Google Tech Support have other, more important things to do than to hear me whine about old accounts. -J |
