Not as much as the Samoans. When Samoans travel, they'll have canned corned beef in their luggage. Canned corned beef to Samoans is almost like kimchee is to Koreans. Almost. The stuff in the rectangular cans these days, is not good. It's minced instead of chunky like in the old days. The stuff in the round cans is better. I don't care much for the product myself. |

I'll take that over some of the fanciest foods. I like to break the egg in half and scoop it into a custard cup, yolk intact. I'll eat the white, then the yolk with the buttered bread. Best with good sourdough rye. |

The only time I make corned beef hash it's with a hunk of the corned beef I make for St. Paddy's day... if I'm gonna bother I make at least 20 pounds, but it shrinks so much I'm lucky to end up with half.... I save the last hunk for hash, I make extra spuds to dice in too, and that's where the boiled onions end up. The mixture fills a 12" pan (sometimes I form four large oval patties), brown one side, flip and brown the other, then with the back spoon make like eight depressions for eggs... put on the lid and cook till the whites set... makes four healthy servings. |

Greg's tactic is to change posting names, but he signs his trolls so he's in gotcha mode. Other regulars who troll aren't that honest. I deleted another troll yesterday and this time took out over 80 other saved but not locked posts. It will be interesting to see who disappeared this time. -- I love cooking with wine. I'd be interesting to learn. I use MT Newswatcher on a mac using the original OS-X 10.2.8. -- Peace! First we lost the foodies, now we are in danger of losing anyone who cooks to people who just want to pick at each other and post insults. Most of us outgrew that after 9th grade. What could be the motivation for all the put-downs and bitching here? Are they all on a testosterone high? Every post doesn't have to be a recipe, but count me among those who are really tired of all the petty bickering and name calling. gloria p |

She would use a knife to quickly strike the top of the egg and remove it. Then she would scoop the egg into a small dish. We didn't have egg cups, but it was otherwise just what you described. If our stomachs would permit, she would add a slice of toast to go with it. She only did this when we were sick, but it brings back rather warm memories of loving care. MaryL |
