Deep fried Oreos

It's a gorgeous day here, and in the paper was an ad for a fair
held at a horse park. I had the idea maybe I'd at least get to see
some animals, so what the heck.

Walking around, what do I see. Since they've been mentioned here so
many times, I had to try the deep fried Oreos. Interesting. Melted
double stuf Oreos in fish n chips-type batter. Who would think that up.

You could use them as a dessert when serving your famous meatballs in grape
jelly sauce. :)

Just a thought.

Woah, that's all way too high-falutin' for me! (laugh) Maybe at one
of your parties.

You can deep fry anything and people will go "Mmmm! Tasty!" In fact,
you could slice up an old stinky neoprene bootie, bread it and fry it
and people would eat it. In faxct, I think they do! Calamari? ;-)

The same people who thought up deep fried Mars Bars, and deep fried peanut
butter and banana sandwiches.

You can't talk to them though, they're dead.

No, it's not something I'd buy again! (laugh) Not even. Not that I'm
adverse to fried things, don't get me wrong.

You kidding, I paid 5 bucks to see what the fuss was about, I tried
2 of them. (laugh) Hey, I don't go to fairs for the health food. But
I won't try anything like that again. I get the idea.

I did see health food, does that count? The 4H club had their prize
winning vegetables. I have a zucchini that could have been a
contender!

There's something about health food that's little spoken about.

Ask me.

They sell fried Oreos at Mermaids Casino on Freemont street in Las
Vegas. They have fried Twinkies, fried Oreos and fried bananas, they
are 99 cents each. After traveling that far, who could resist??? The
fried Oreo was my favorite.

They taste a lot like fried brownies; pretty good. Deep fried Oreos are
sold at the Camden Riversharks home games. The Riversharks are a minor
league baseball team out of Camden, NJ.

I'll bet fried brownies are delicious!
I've never had one.

If I were to make them, what would I batter it with?

<googles>

Hm. Looks like just a basic flour batter is used to dip them. I think
I'd add a little sugar and vanilla to that.

Speaking of deep fried things, there is one grill in our area (Pats
Place) that serves deep fried dill pickle chips. Dipping sauce of ranch
dressing is served with them.

They are divine. ;-d I introduced my sister and brother in law to that
sin a few years ago. They were dubious at first, but ended up really
liking them. <eg>

A few years ago when I was walking down Fremont Street with a few
friends, we dared one of my friends to go try the fried Twinkies. He
offered all of us a taste, but they looked absolutely disgusting to me.
I did try the fried Oreos last year at a minor league baseball game in
NJ near where I live. As far as I can tell, the batter is just your
standard tempora batter. Anyone who is adventurous can surely find a
recipe via a Google search.

Did you say, "Ask me," instead of just revealing your knowledge
because you're trying to ascertain whether anyone has any interest in
anything you have to say?

Just curious.
