I thought that was on the national part of Morning Edition, not just

I don't know about that, Andy. I've experienced many
odd months, days, and even years since 1905.

Yeah, 1972 was a pretty odd year, even if the number
wasn't.

But, I think they were talking about sequential odd
numbers in the date. Still, 03/05/07 would seem
to fit and there have been 2 of those since 1905, not
to mention the 05/07/09 of 1909.

Huh? what about 1/1/09 or 3/1/09 or 5/1/09 you do the math:)

Either im missing something or there's lots of "odd" numbered days &
months in a year. 182.625 to be precise.

No it still does not

Lets start

Today 5/7/9 eliminating the zeros
Now lets back off each date by a factor of 2
3/5/7
Once again
1/3/5

Now lets look at the actual dates

05/07/2009
03/05/2007
01/03/2005

Why are we eliminating the two zero zero in 2009.

I don't get this

How about 7/9/11
or 9/11/13
or 11/13/15

I must be a dummy.

OK now I understand.

You're dealing with 3 columns

The first column is the month therefore you may not exceed 12 (actually 11
since 12 is a even number.

If that is true the months may only be 1,3,5,7,9,or 11

applying that we get
M D Y (eliminating the 200)
1 3 5
3 5 7
5 7 9
7 9 11
9 11 13
11 13 15

If we had a 13 month calendar there would be 1 more

13 15 17

Ok I get it.

BFD!

The article says that Odd Day happens 6 times per century - the first
set beginning 01/03/1905.
January 3, 2005 was the first odd day of this century. The next one was
March 5, 2007 and then today - March 7, 2009.
There will be two more like you have pointed out above.
There cannot be another after 2015 since it would require there be a
13th month - 13/15/17.

Does that clear it up?

11-13-15 is as odd as 1-3-5
AND
13-15-17 would be as odd as 3-5-7, etc.

I think you two are talking about different kinds of "odd". 5_7_9 is
not like 1_3_9 and your other examples. Personally, I'm waiting for
09_09_09. Year watching has been fun since 2000.
