Default OT - Away for Awhile

Early last evening, our son-in-law, who lives with us, was in a car
accident. The car rolled 7 times. He has two collapsed lungs, a few
broken ribs, a bruised kidney, and a crushed pelvis. He is on a
ventilator. He has not regained consciousness since the accident, and
they're keeping him sedated until he's had surgery on his pelvis. Not
sure how long they'll keep him knocked out. CAT scans are showing no
brain injury at this time.

His girlfriend and I are staying at the hospital for as long as we
can. At least a few days. She's a complete wreck. There is a
computer in the ICU family waiting room, so we won't be completely cut
off from civilization.

Prayers, etc. are gratefully accepted.

Carol,

Sorry to hear THAT!

Give me a name and I'll bring it up in prayer.

His name is Ron. He is 21 years old, and was in the process of
joining the National Guard. Ain't gonna happen now.

Thank you, Andy.

Prayers, etc. are fervently supplied. Sounds like it was a horrible
accident, but it also sounds like his injuries could have been a LOT worse.
Here's hoping he recovers quickly and completely.

It does sound strange. They "adopted" (unofficially) Ron as their
son and kept him after Crash's daughter and he separated. That's
the story in a nutshell.

I don't think Carol will mind me saying that much as she opened the
door on that one ;-)

Carol, I hope Ron has a speedy recovery. It sounds like it might
take a while, but I'm sure the doctors will fix him just fine. The
first 24 hours are the hardest. It'll only get easier.
