AFAIK, all he needs is a new Google account. And to get a new Google Account, he needs an unregistered email address (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, whatever). He'd only need to use a proxy if Google decided to ban his IP address (which is unlikely) -- and that's assuming he has a permanent static IP (which is also unlikely). |

Since he posts through AOL, he's already using one of the AOL proxies. The IP address on his posts is the same IP address of hundreds... thousands... of other AOL users. (These proxies are what AOL uses to spy on their users surfing habits so efficiently). So Google would be banning not just Sheldon. -sw |

Or, at least, I *assumed* everyone else was referring to anonymous proxies. Suggestions that Sheldon use a transparent proxy would make even less sense than a suggestion that he use an anon. proxy. Proxies are completely irrelevant to Sheldon's predicament. |

I can't imagine why anyone cares who uses AOL or not.... other than for flogging purposes. I think if you can wade your way through all that peripheral stuff, you're a whole lot better able to focus than I am and you're a lot more tolerant of visual clutter! I've tried to help my neighbor with AOL email in the past and I've been floored by how much *crap* they enclose the actual text window in (with no option to close the surrounding frames). The working window is maybe 6 inches across, at best. It drives me nuts! I always ask her why she insists on using AOL, but it's one of those "I know this and I don't know that" kind of things. I find nothing foolproof about AOL, but you go with what you know. If it was my ISP, I'd be annoyed to the point that I wouldn't use it... but I don't use AOL. Moot point. Additionally, I've never heard anyone say they were switching *to* AOL.... but I can certainly understand it when people say they are switching "from" AOL. My only advocation about "switching" to AOL isn't about switching ISPs, it's about switching to an AOL style email delivery system. UGH. :/ -- I never worry about diets. Anyone who used it for more than a year must have been pretty silly. I used it back then until I could figure out what the hell was going on and then got a real ISP and reformatted the machine to get all the crap off. Everything about AOL sucked. Lou |

The only thing about AOL that sucked was that originally when there was only dial-up it cost more, so yoose cheap *******s cried sour grapes. Now that it's free with any broad band ISP many of the earlier AOL detractors have an AOL account that they won't ever admit to. Unfortunately now that it's free AOL has pared back drastically so it hasn't anywhere near as much content. So knock off the horseshit, you and yoose ilk simply have short arm disease, arms too short to reach yoose wallets. Never ceases to amaze how many cry something sucks when in actuality they can't afford it. ... you poor *******! LOL Boney Maroney |
