Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee: Family Favorites

Heaven help me, I think I'd eat most of this week's offerings! Once
again, SLop takes a theme and drives it into the ground. In this case,
the color pink. It looked like someone ate a florist shop and
unsuccessfully drank a bottle of Pepto Bismal to keep from vomiting all
over her set.

If her brother is indeed a heath nut, I find it hard to believe he'd eat
any of SLop's food.

As usual, SLop's "tips" for the cabbage rolls were infantile in all
aspects of the word. "Cut out the stiff part of the cabbage leaf so you
can bend it", "Place the seams on the bottom so they don't become
unwrapped", "Be sure to use the greenest cabbage leaves for your rolls
and the white ones as liner in your pan.", ad nausium. Gee, thanks for
the answers to questions I knew instinctually!

Did I hear SLop say that this week's Fandra had come directly from the
bar when introducing her? Wow. SLop's face lit up when the Fandra
introduced her rum cake and then announced that it was her new favorite
dessert she'd eat every chance she had. Drunkard! A tip for the Fandra;
if you want the pecans in the cakehole to absorb the excessive booze
with which you doused that cake, put them there BEFORE drowning the
cake! Was there a clumsy post-production voice-over of SLop prattling
about how moist and rich the cake they were dousing with booze sauce
would be? After showing SLop her new liquor delivery vector, SLop gave
the Fabdra the bum's rush as she said she wanted to see SLop's cocktail.
Ha!

SLop once again used a QUILT as a table cloth! Yeah, like we'd believe
that you actually make quilts in your spare time.

This was kind of a dull ep, nothing real insane, except the explosion of
pink and the $30 "savings" you'll get by using only flavoring packets.

Miss Lee.

Yes, there it was, on the impulse rack at the supermarket, the big
premiere issue of SANDRA LEE MAGAZINE.

And, God help me, I bought it.

I briefly subscribed to Paula Deen's magazine, but I didn't feel any

Hee hee. When I was a kid, my parents gave me those Jacques Cousteau
books, and I swear he (or his ghostwriter) wrote with an accent. There
was no way to read it without hearing his voice. ;)

Aww...I was hoping she'd make a better butcher block.
