Default Cooking with cranberry juice

Have you cooked anything with cranberry juice?

I have several bottles of cranberry juice in the frig that I'm not
going to drink. I am wondering if anyone has experience using
cranberry juice as a braising liquid?

The bottles have been opened so can't go to the food bank.

I don't usually drink juice, am not drinking alcohol currently, and
have no desire to turn it into jelly. So please don't suggest that I
use it up that way.

You could mix it half and half (or other proportion) with 7-Up, lemon/
lime soda or OJ, and just drink it. It's particularly good for
keeping female bladders healthy, FYI.

Might be good to use to baste pork. Have you tried a splash of it in water?
I am not a juice person either, it's too syrupy and caloric, but I like to
use it to flavor water or soda water. A splash is good in lemonade too. I
wonder if you could bake with it? Like an apple cranberry bread or
something? Oo, Oo, how about a glaze for a ham??

I bet it would be good for poaching pears or peaches.

When you say cranberry juice, do you mean the pure stuff with no
sweetener, the juice that's very very tart, or do you mean cranberry
juice cocktail with added sugar or a blend with apple or grape juice
which are also there for added sugar?

If you have the tart expensive juice, the only thing I can think of for
it is salad dressing. Use some of it in place of vinegar or lemon.

If you have something sweeter, I wouldn't put it with meat. I'd
consider using it in dessert, maybe as the liquid in a compote.

Maybe you could use the cranberry juice in a sorbet. The juice
would likely freeze well. You could thaw it out and use it in a
sorbet or congealed salad for Thanksgiving.
