OTOH, i'm not convinced Trig isn't Palin's child. he was just over 6 pounds at birth. that's a pretty small baby & if he was sideways, there wouldn't be much bump, certainly nothing that shows through Alaskan winter gear. in any case, it's mostly irrelevant to the campaign. lee -- Last night while sitting in my chair I pinged a host that wasn't there It wasn't there again today The host resolved to NSA. |

Lee, I was being sarcastic. Trig IS the birthed child of Sarah Palin, NOT her oldest daughter. It is was a nasty rumour which was started by the blogs and has NO basis in fact. And all one needs to do is look at any of the real online news services to read that Obama is absolutely angry about the left-wing blogs pushing this rumour and being nasty about the pregnant 17 year-old daughter. He knows that this is the kind of behavior and trash that ****es-off right-thinking people regardless of political affiliation. -- Dave What is best in life? You're in a jovial mood today, Greg! Have you seen the Russ Meyer flick, Barbara...??? The Varla character is really WHO should be POTUS, check it out..it's the BEST movie ever made IMNSHO..every home should have a copy of this: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:16861~T1 Plot Synopsis by Robert Firsching "Exploitation maven Russ Meyer created a cult classic with this turbo-charged action film. Three curvaceous go-go dancers in a cool sports car go on a desert crime spree, led by Varla (the amazing Tura Satana), a busty, nasty woman dressed entirely in black. Varla's ******* moll, Rosie (Haji) - who has an extremely overwrought accent - and reluctant bimbo Billie (Lori Williams) are along for the ride. When they meet a naïve young couple, Tommy and Linda (Ray Barlow and Sue Bernard), Varla challenges the man to a race then kills him by breaking his back. They take Linda hostage and drive to a house owned by a crippled old lecher (Stuart Lancaster) and his muscular but retarded son, Vegetable (Dennis Busch). Varla discovers that the old man has money hidden on the property, so the girls try to find it. Meanwhile, Vegetable's perverted father tries to trick him into assaulting one of the girls as he watches, but his other son (Paul Trinka) finally shows up to save the day. A great deal of bloodshed, campy catfighting, and funny dialogue fills the bulk of this fast-paced comic book of a movie. Review by Fred Beldin "Welcome to violence!" The sinister voice-over that begins Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! warns its presumably all-male audience that a new breed of woman exists, feral females that hide deceit and murder under their soft seductive skins, and apparently, these women are everywhere. This bit of misogyny leads directly into an equal-opportunity tale of mayhem where the ladies are indeed fully in charge. Some modern-day revisionists like to refashion this film into some sort of proto-feminist fable, but the only real twist is allowing the ladies to be villains as amoral and violent as any classic moustache-twirler. The male leads (particularly Stuart Lancaster's odious wheelchair-bound millionaire) are either hateful of women or exist to offer knight-in-shining-armor assistance when necessary, so don't look to Faster, Pussycat! for any feminist theory. Nevertheless, this is still the crowning achievement of Russ Meyer's stunning catalogue. The arch, stylized dialogue is packed with spicy slang and poetic asides, and the action is briskly paced. Tura Satana steals the show as the lead bad girl, alternately yelling and purring her way through a role that rips up scenery and co-stars in equal measures. Every inch of the film entertains, from the wild desert drag racing sequences to the sexually charged fried chicken lunch that the characters stop fighting each other long enough to share. Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! has a deliciously ruthless rhythm that few films of such modest aspirations ever achieve -- it could very well be the most finely crafted exploitation film ever made..." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059170/ Memorable quotes for Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965): "The Old Man: You girls a bunch of nudists or are you just short of clothes? --------------------- Billie: I'm of legal age for whiskey, voting and loving. Now the next election is two years away, and my love life ain't getting much better, so how about some of that one-hundred-percent! ---------------------- Gas Station Attendant: [staring at Varla's chest as he pumps gas] Just passing through, huh? Boy, that motor's sure hot! You gals really must have been moving on these little machines. Yessir, the thrill of the open road. New places, new people, new sights of interest. Now that's what I believe in, seeing America first! Varla: You won't find it down there, Columbus! ----------------------- Gas Station Attendant: Yes ma'am, what can I do for you today? Varla: Just your job, squirrel. Fill it up! ---------------------- Tommy: Look, I don't know what the hell your point is, but... Varla: The point is of no return and you've reached it! ---------------------- The Old Man: Women! They let 'em vote, smoke and drive - even put 'em in pants! And what happens? A Democrat for president! --------------------- Rosie: Alright, you wash... now I'm gonna spin-a-dry you! --------------------- Billie: You really should be AM and FM. You one-band broads are a drag! --------------------- Billie: Oh, you're cute... like a velvet glove cast in iron. --------------------- Narrator: Ladies and gentlemen - welcome to violence! --------------------- Varla: I never try anything. I just do it. And I don't beat clocks, just people! Wanna try me? ---------------------- Varla: You're all shook up, aren't you, baby? ---------------------- Tommy: I work on this baby the same way, trying to get maximum performance. ---------------------- Kirk: [to Varla] You're a beautiful animal... and I'm weak, and I want you. ---------------------- Billie: [Billie throws Rosie a can of beer to calm her down] Here Rosie baby, pop the top before you blow your own! --------------------- Tommy: Been running some timing trials? Varla: We KNOW how fast WE can go. You can time that heap with an hour-glass. Linda: Someone mention my figure? --------------------- Varla: Drive! And don't miss. --------------------- Narrator: [opening narration] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to violence, the word and the act. While violence cloaks itself in a plethora of disguises, its favorite mantle still remains... sex. Violence devours all it touches, its voracious appetite rarely fulfilled. Yet violence doesn't only destroy, it creates and molds as well. Let's examine closely then this dangerously evil creation, this new breed encased and contained within the supple skin of woman. The softness is there, the unmistakable smell of female, the surface shiny and silken, the body yielding yet wanton. But a word of caution: handle with care and don't drop your guard. This rapacious new breed prowls both alone and in packs, operating at any level, any time, anywhere, and with anybody. Who are they? One might be your secretary, your doctor's receptionist... or a dancer in a go-go club! ------------------- Varla: Go get her! Rosie: So I have to get all wet because the Lady Godiva wants to swim? ------------------- Varla: [to Rosie as she fumbles with a lighter] Easy, baby, you're almost a fire hazard! -------------------- Billie: [to Tommy, suggestively] Would you like to look under my hood? --------------------- Billie: [challenging Tommy to race] How about it, handsome? I bet you're a real tiger in disguise. </> |

Although I was so thrilled to be pregnant that I wanted to start wearing maternity clothes from the moment the stick turned blue. Luckily, I had wise friends who urged me to hold off, being that I'd be well and truly sick of them by the end. I was much thinner and more fit going into my second pregnancy but nevertheless started showing a bump almost immediately. The hinges had already been sprung once, I guess... |

My only (obfood) problem with that first was craving meat- something I didn't eat much of at that time, mayonnaise which I rarely ate prior to pregnancy, and lemonade which gave me the *worst* heartburn later in pregnancy. I''m a big believer in cravings being your body's way of telling you what you need. I guess I needed more protein, fats and Vit. C ? |

When Bill Clinton ran for president the first time, I voted third party because I thought he was too much a part of the old boys network. I did; however, vote for Clinton when he ran for his second term. Staying home is a lousy idea, but I think that's what will happen with a lot of Republicans this time around. |

Palin's pregnancy is sensationalized, I have to say that she doesn't look pregnant in *any* of the pictures taken after she annouced her pregnancy, and considering this would have been her 5th child, I can see why people have doubts. I also do not understand why someone who was going into labor prematurely with a child they knew to have special needs would fly from Texas to Alaska. > I absolutely *would* wish pregnancy and a natural child birth on my > worst enemy. Aside from the fact that my belly got in the way, and it was harder to stand for long periods of time, I loved being pregnant. I had a natural delivery, and thought it was a really cool experience, all 47 hours of it. Being in the hospital sucked, though. None of the nurses had any experience with non-drugged up moms, and they kept getting angry at me for getting up and moving around, going to the bathroom, etc. -- Saerah "Welcome to Usenet, Biatch! If you pretend your kids aren't having sex, and assume that they will stay abstinent, you end up with teenage parents. I, for one, plan on letting my daughter know that if she at any time has a need for contraception, I'll take her to a gynecologist. I'm not saying no questions will be asked, but I have no desire to be a grandmother before I'm 40. Hell, even 45 is pushing it! On the other hand, I hope it is not an issue until she is in her later teens, but knowing how I and my peers were 10-15 years ago, I can only imagine it will be worse when she is that age :< -- Saerah "Welcome to Usenet, Biatch! One thing Republicans can do well is turn out the vote. Only time will tell. I have seen lots of Obama supporters out campaigning in Philadelphia for him since last February. I saw virtually no Hillary supporters campaigning for her during Pennsylvania's primary, and I have not seen all that many McCain supporters working on his behalf here in NJ where I live or in PA where I spend a lot of my time. I also drive around a lot, and all through Philadelphia, Bucks, Camden, and Montgomery counties, I have seen far more Obama signs in front of people's homes then McCain signs. One problem with John Kerry back in 2004 is that he didn't appeal to the young voters. This time around, Obama is so young that he does appeal to the youthful voters, plus despite what Rove claims, McCain really is an agent of change, and many first time voters and long-time voters realize that. |

Ordinarily, I would agree with you, but this is not an ordinary election. If McCain is elected, he will be the oldest president to come into office. With McCain's age, his history of skin cancer, and his reported lapses of memory, voters can't help but realize that Palin might be out next president if McCain wins the election. |

I sure hope you're right. The issue of abortion rights really speaks to a deeper issue, that of personal privacy. The government has no right to intrude on our most private and intimate decisions such as how we reproduce, so if the SCOTUS throws out Roe v. Wade, it can through out all other restrictions on the government to stay out of our private lives. That's what scares me the most. |

Nope. I won't admit that because history shows us that some of our most outstanding presidents came from modest backgrounds. What I find hypocritical is that the Republican campaign machine is trying to couch McCain's experience as relevant when it is no more or less relevant then Palin's or Obama's for president. > one of the top mccain people said, in effect, 'don't worry, she'll have > plenty of time to learn at the feet of the master.' well, what if 'the > master' plotzes in february? I think it is ridiculous to pretend that both sides don't play dirty. I don't think the daily kos is any less reliable than, say, fox news. While I think the rumors that the baby is her grandchild are unfounded, I think some of the evidence that has been mentioned does point to something fishy with her pregnancy. -- Saerah (another reason why I am pretty hardcore leftist ideologically, but politically unaffiliated) "Welcome to Usenet, Biatch! There's a long list of reasons to oppose the McCain/Palin ticket. Palin's teenage daughter's pregnancy is not one of them. That kind of thing can happen in any family. |
