Default peking sauce = black bean sauce?

Anyone out there into Chinese cuisine?

I used to love a dish, eggplant in peking sauce, at a certain Chinese
restaurant I've now moved away from. I can't find it anywhere else. A Chinese
coworker of mine told me that Peking Sauce was the same as black bean sauce.
But my takout Chinese menu has both on it. So are they really the same? I don't
think I've ever knowingly ordered anything in black bean sauce, so I don't
know from experience if they taste the same.

and, anyone got a recipe for eggplant in peking sauce?
