mine must be kinda weak, according to the recipes i read - 4:1 tomato
juice to vodka instead of 2:1. it's more like a highball.

2 oz. vodka

8 oz. tomato juice

generous grinding of black pepper

approx. 1/8+ teaspoon dilled weed, rubbed between thumb and
forefinger

dash ground chipotle

dash celery salt

generous squirt lemon juice (i use the minute maid frozen)

small squirt nellie and joe's key lime juice

couple small glugs worcestershire

eight drops tabasco

approx. 1 teaspoon dill pickle juice

*

stir ingredients in a tall glass, add two ice cubes. replenish ice as
necessary.

sounds like a lot of trouble, huh?

(this may change, as i'm steeping some fresh dill in vodka to see how
that works.)

i used to make what i called a 'new wave mary' with a smaller amount
of tomato juice and just a tablespoon of lemon juice, if you don't
feel like spicy.

blake

I don't know how it started out. When I was young I loved them with
vodka, and Stoli was my brand of choice. I thought gin tasted like
turpentine. In my mid 30's somehow I tried some Bombay Sapphire and I
knew I had found a new vice. I still like vodka, but gin is my
preference.

There are only four drinks in which I like vodka; bloody marys, salty dogs,
screwdrivers, and black russians. Basically, I can't stand the smell or
taste of vodka on its own. Reminds me of rubbing alcohol.

What! It's Canada Day...try a Canadian invented drink...A Ceasar, vodka
with clamato juice, with worchestshire and hot sauce...glass rimed with
celery salt...served with a celery stalk or dill pickle spear in it as a
eatible stir stick.

Sorry, Alan, can't do the clamato juice. It would cause immediate reverse
peristalysis. Everything else sounds good!
