Default Ground beef

When I have a dish that calls for ground beef and the cooking
instructions says to brown the beef before mixing with the other
ingredients, is the beef done enough to eat at the browning point or
does it still need baking (if the dish calls for baking). I often pop
a little into my mouth to taste and never gave much thought as to
whether it is safe to eat or not. Ground beef that you get today
should be cooked well done and I don't know if browning in a pan is
considered well done.

If it is no longer pink, it is safe to eat.
