Garlic can go into almost anything, including ice cream. Do a search.

Yeah, it is. One day I ate a clove of garlic. I thought "YOUCH!" Then
a while later I thought: you know, that clove of garlic would be a cool
thing to chomp on... So I ate it. YOUCH. This has happened several
more times. I guess I just don't learn or something.

Yeah, exactly. I have the same trouble with horseradish!

Reminds me of a time about 20 years ago I was living in an over-and-under
duplex. The tenant below was an elderly gentleman of color (and quite colorful
a character he was too). Due to his having lost his left arm in an industrial
accident in his youth, and no less to his cheerful scamming nature, my
housemate and I dubbed him the One-Armed Bandit.

A good drinking companion full of wonderful stories, he advised me to always
keep a head of garlic in the car. It was his modus vivendi to imbibe and
drive. His advice was, when (not if) pulled over by the constabulary, quickly
eat a clove or two of garlic. Roll down the window and greet the officer with
a blast of garlic breath that would singe Beelzebub's nose hairs and explain
how that biiiig Eytalian meal you ate an hour ago was giving you the fits and
you *really* needed to get to the bathroom.

Sadly I never had the opportunity to try his advice.

Memories . . .
