That Dee Dee. Tsk. I measured my counter space, it's only
about 15 running feet. Fact is, I do most of my chopping/food prep
in the same 3 - 5 feet of space. A different area I tend to use for
mixers/food processors/etc because it's by the cabinet where I
hide ... I mean, store those appliances.

I refer to my pickup camper as my "Tokyo apartment", quite compact, but
it has everything but a washer / dryer.

Stove with three burners and an oven, two basin kitchen sink, microwave,
refrigerator / freezer, bathroom w/ shower, heat, A/C, hot water, etc.
Fleetwood Elkhorn LT 8C.

Airstreams are overpriced thanks to "retro" PYVs. Lot of decent stuff of
other brands on the used market. I got my camper barely used at a really
good price. It's very handy for my SCUBA and caving hobbies that take me
to oddball locations, particularly the caving. The pickup camper is
particularly helpful since on the 4WD truck it's off-road capable and
many of the caves are miles off-road.

DH, whom I claim was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, only because I
wasn't, was raised in a 800 sf house. Actually the counters didn't have
much more room than that.

At one point DH and I lived there when his mom got ill -- they were living
in the larger historical home in front -- but I hadn't lived in an 800 sf
house for a very long time, and found it quite livable -- as I didn't have
my 'stuff' with me.

As you know, those Hawaii houses can be very small, too. ;-))

that big.

I got into kitchen wall art (hanging pots and such) as I had no choice. I
had a whole whopping 3sqft of cabinet space for food and pots. The stove
could not accomodate a full sized pizza, just the little totinos ones.

Classic! Move your oven to the sink spot and thre sink to where you have
the workspace and you have me. Where your oven top is, is my main usable
counter top space (dishwasher under it). Where you drainboard for dishes
is, is the other countertop space blocked in by sink and stove so not as
usable as it would otherwise be.

Side where your sink is has the patio door to the back porch and side where
your oven is has door to the garage.

There is a wall across from our sink (roughly across from your oven) but it
has minimal cabinets and a freezer plus our china cabinet.

The 4th wall (if you stood at your sink with it to your back and looked out)
is a 1/2 wall with part open to the living room and the rest into the built
in bar. It's crunched aganst the garage door so no room to do more than
brickabrack stuff there.

On countertop space yes but my house is quite a bit bigger and the kitchen
can easily take a decent sized dining table in the middle and still get
around to the cooking area. It's just not designed right to have the
counterspace it should.

later, when we can afford it, we will have the cabinets replaced and redo
it. Oven and sink can be where they are but the wall across from where your
oven is, will be cabinets and more counter space. Sure will be nice then!

You won't like the price of fuel to tow that thing, not to mention the
extra wear and tear on your tow vehicle... it's less expensive to stay
at the Super 8 each night... and a lot less work. Travel trailers are
expensive to buy, expensive and labor intensive to maintain, and worth
very little once towed off the dealer's lot, plus difficult to sell.
I don't consider KOA type compounds camping, that's slumming. If
you're truly into camping it's much more advantageous to buy some
rural acreage and put up a rustic cabin.
