Of course, you know, Andy, I'm a woman, but I can still answer this from a
woman's viewpoint: I'd say both are equally; depending on the age you
prefer.

I prefer Giada's Mom based on her causality, grace, charm, figure and humor.

A. The picture of her on Wikipedia makes her look goofy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giada_De_Laurentiis

B. To heck with mother. Does she have a daughter?

C. OK, both, but only simultaneously, not serially.

Well as a married man of 41 years I can close my eye tonight and dream of
both. Hell of a dream too. LOL

Andy, admit it... you prefer "mature" women. That's acting like the
grownup you are and thank you for not being the typical male
men-o-pause airhead.

Google (Images) is your friend, buddy. Her name is Veronica De
Laurentiis, daughter of Dino and his first wife...
(http://www.nndb.com/people/828/000022762/). Why Giada uses her
maternal grandfather's last name is a mystery to me.

Not always true. I'm a bit over 25 now. I was 25 when I was the chief test
pilot for the USAF developing new (top secret, of course) aircraft. I do,
however, own the company that builds the race cars I drive.

Now I'm 50 and when I was half your age I was drawing plans for classified
aircraft, slept on the beach, got laid with a snap of my fingers, drank at
work, etc. What does that have to do with Giada or her Mom?

Works either way with my off internet age of 62.

I remember seeing you sleeping on the beach when my yacht was in the harbor
to pick up Giada's mom. We were going to Monte Carlo.

The answer to that is in the wikipedia article.... In a nutshell,
Giada's Mom married a guy named Dibenedetto. Had 4 kids. Divorced
Dibenedetto, moved back to California where Mom reclaimed her maiden
name and changed the kids name to the same as hers.
It's not all that uncommon, actually. If the father is completely out
of the kids' lives after the divorce (which may or may not be the case
here, I don't know), there's no reason to "honor" him by having his
kids named after him. and if they are little enough, they won't even
know the difference.

I think it is quite nice that she has kept that name. Wasn't it her
grandfather that was very interested in food and started some sort of
grocery (that failed, sadly). I believe I heard Giada say this on her show.
If so, she has inherited that love of food from her grandfather very
befittingly (is that a good word) and certainly earns a right in that
respect to his surname.

Just my opinion,
Dee Dee
